20090001262System and Method for Spectral Analysis - The system and method for spectral analysis uses a set of spectral data. The spectral data is arranged according to a second dimension, such as time, temperature, position, or other condition. The arranged spectral data is used in a signal separation process, such as an independent component analysis (ICA), which generates independent signals. The independent signals are then used for identifying or quantifying a target component.01-01-2009
20090022336SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR SIGNAL SEPARATION - Methods, apparatus, and systems for source separation include a converged plurality of coefficient values that is based on each of a plurality of M-channel signals. Each of the plurality of M-channel signals is based on signals produced by M transducers in response to at least one information source and at least one interference source. In some examples, the converged plurality of coefficient values is used to filter an M-channel signal to produce an information output signal and an interference output signal.01-22-2009
20090299739SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR MULTICHANNEL SIGNAL BALANCING - A method for processing a multichannel audio signal may be configured to control the amplitude of one channel of the signal relative to another based on the levels of the two channels. One such example uses a bias factor, which is based on a standard orientation of an audio sensing device relative to a directional acoustic information source, for amplitude control of information segments of the signal.12-03-2009
20100046770SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTION OF UNCORRELATED COMPONENT - Detection of an uncorrelated component in a multi-channel acoustic signal is disclosed. In one example, the detection is based on a relation between (A) a difference in energy between two channels of the signal and (B) a threshold value that is based on an estimate of background energy of the acoustic signal.02-25-2010
20100103776AUDIO SOURCE PROXIMITY ESTIMATION USING SENSOR ARRAY FOR NOISE REDUCTION - Estimating the proximity of an audio source is accomplished by transforming audio signals from a plurality of sensors to frequency domain. The amplitudes of the transformed audio signals are then determined. The proximity of the audio source is determined based on a comparison of the frequency domain amplitudes. This estimation permits a device to differentiate between relatively distant audio sources and audio sources at close proximity to the device. The technique can be applied to mobile handsets, such as cellular phones or PDAs, hands-free headsets, and other audio input devices. Devices taking advantage of this “close proximity” detection are better able to suppress background noise and deliver an improved user experience.04-29-2010
20100131269SYSTEMS, METHODS, APPARATUS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR ENHANCED ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION - Uses of an enhanced sidetone signal in an active noise cancellation operation are disclosed.05-27-2010
20110116654DELAY TECHNIQUES IN ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION CIRCUITS OR OTHER CIRCUITS THAT PERFORM FILTERING OF DECIMATED COEFFICIENTS - This disclosure describes circuit configurations that may be used for active noise cancellation in the digital domain. In particular, this disclosure proposes the use a down sample unit and an up sample unit, rather than memory-based delay circuits, to achieve one or more desired delays in digital adaptive noise cancellation circuits or other circuits that use delay for signal processing. The delay achieved by the down sample unit and the up sample unit may be tunable so as to allow flexibility in producing the necessary delay for different active noise cancellation circuit configurations. Many different adaptive noise cancellation circuit configurations are discussed, and the techniques may also be useful for other types of circuits, such as low-latency equalization circuits.05-19-2011
20110293103SYSTEMS, METHODS, DEVICES, APPARATUS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR AUDIO EQUALIZATION - Methods and apparatus for generating an anti-noise signal and equalizing a reproduced audio signal (e.g., a far-end telephone signal) are described, wherein the generating and the equalizing are both based on information from an acoustic error signal.12-01-2011
