20090321978PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A PANEL MADE OF A THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE - A method of manufacturing a panel made of a composite material using a tool having a support on which a lay-up is performed, the lay-up producing a stack of plies of fiber prepregs, followed by consolidating the stack aiming to obtain the panel using a compacting plate arranged above the stack. The method is implemented such that a first set of polyimide films partially covering each other is located in contact with the stack of plies, between the latter and the compacting plate.12-31-2009
20110017386METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A BLANK MADE FROM THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL, ASSOCIATED MANUFACTURING TOOL AND USE OF THE METHOD TO PRODUCE STRUCTURAL AIRCRAFT PARTS - A method of manufacturing a blank made from thermoplastic composite material, in which a pressure and temperature cycle is applied by pressing on top of a compacting plate that is itself on top of a stack of fibers including continuous fibers pre-impregnated with a thermoplastic resin, which stack has been previously placed on a board with the film enveloping the stack being brought into contact with fixing blocks arranged at the periphery of the board, and by heating the stack so as to reach at least the melting temperature of the resin while leaving the film infusible and smooth, and allowing the gas(es) present in the stack to escape through at least one opening left in the enveloping film and then through at least one emerging channel formed in the compacting plate and/or in the board and/or in the fixing blocks.01-27-2011

20090255117GAS TURBINE HOT GAS COMPONENT REPAIR METHOD - A gas turbine engine hot gas component repair method for defects that do not extend through the thickness of the component is provided. First defects are removed by machining a cavity in the surface of a component. Coupons, fittable within the cavities are manufactured, are for example coated with brazing medium on an inner surface and then joined to the component by joining means such as laser metal forming. The joint holds the coupon during later heat treatment, thereby eliminating a need for holding aids. Before heat treatment, a further brazing medium can be applied to the surface of the coupon overlapping onto the component. A single heat treatment, brazing the coupon to the component and, brazing the brazing medium to the outer surface of the coupon can, then be used to complete the repair.10-15-2009

20090005652METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PERMITTING ACCESS TO EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, SYSTEMS, SERVICES OR THE LIKE BASED ON SLEEP QUALITY ANALYSIS - Methods and systems for controlling a subject's access to an activity based on a sleep quality index are described. The sleep quality index may related to various physiological data relating to the subject, including current and historical physiological data, previous sleep quality indices for the subject. The subject's access to the activity may also be restricted based on personal characteristics of the subjects or on the identity of the subject.01-01-2009

20090088608WIRELESS PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING - Embodiments of the invention relate to a wireless physiological monitoring system. The system includes at least one wireless sensor and a monitoring device which are linked to one another of a wireless fashion for measuring physiological signals of a patient. The at least one wireless sensor is located on the patient and may comprise a wireless surface electrode assembly or a wireless needle assembly. The system may also comprise a wireless stimulator synchronized with the wireless sensor for performing certain diagnostic tests, such as nerve conduction velocity tests, for example. The wireless sensor preferably includes active, reference and common conductors. The common conductor can be used to measure the common mode voltage of the patient in the vicinity of the testing, and this voltage can then be subtracted from the measured active and reference voltages.04-02-2009
20090105577Device For Detecting Electrical Potentials Using Frontal Electrodes - Embodiments relate to devices for detecting electrical potentials corresponding to biological signals. The device comprises a flexible member for positioning over a forehead area of a human head and first, second and third electrodes located on the flexible member. The first electrode is located in a projecting portion of the flexible member to be positioned adjacent a nasion area of the head. The second electrode is to be positioned over a first lateral forehead area. The third electrode is to be positioned over a second lateral forehead area opposite the first lateral forehead area.04-23-2009

20090038238Paved surface restraint and method of installation - A paver or landscape edging is provided with enhanced anchoring means. The edging has an elongated, longitudinal strip with a paver-facing surface and an opposed surface, and extensions extending from the opposed surface of the elongated strip, each comprising a first wall edge and a bore for receiving a fastener such as a spike or stake. A strap member extends between neighbouring extensions, offset from the first wall edge and defining a gap, or anchoring region, when the edging is placed on a substrate. The installed edging may be anchored by fasteners, and by root systems of a concealing layer placed over the edging that grow around the strap member. In addition, a method for installing pavers provides for the fixing of a portion of the edging on the substrate prior to cutting a strap to allow the edging to be deformed in conformance with a curved or irregular boundary.02-12-2009
