Hydraulic reversing fan valve and machine using same - A machine includes a hydraulic fan system for circulating cooling air through an engine compartment. Periodically, the fan rotation direction is briefly reversed in order to dislodge any material debris that may have accumulated at the inlet to the engine compartment. When a fan reversal event is initiated, the fan motor will continue to rotate due to angular momentum even after the pump output flow has been switched from a first motor port to a second motor port. During this continued rotation as the fan decelerates to zero speed, vacuum pressure levels can arise at the first motor port, and a pressure spike can develop at the second motor port. In order to alleviate these conditions, a pressure transfer valve briefly opens to facilitate fluid flow directly from the second motor port to the first motor port as the fan motor decelerates towards zero speed before reversing direction, simultaneously alleviating vacuum and pressure spike conditions. | 10-29-2009

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR LINING A PIPE - A method for lining an interior portion of a pipe includes inserting a vacuum bag having a first end and a second end inside the pipe. A porous media is inserted between the vacuum bag and the pipe. The first end of the vacuum bag is removably sealed to a first end of the pipe. The second end of the vacuum bag is removably sealed to a second end of the pipe. An airtight cavity is formed between the vacuum bag and the pipe. A draw hose is removably connected from the airtight cavity to a resin container. A vacuum hose is removably connected from the airtight cavity to a vacuum source. The vacuum source is activated thereby drawing resin from the resin container into the draw hose and the airtight cavity. The liquid resin is set until the liquid resin has formed a hardened layer. | 11-11-2010

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROCESSING DATA AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH DEVICE - A method and a device are provided for processing first data, wherein said first data are distributed, in particular temporally spread over and/or on top of second data. In addition, a communication system comprising such device is suggested. | 05-26-2011
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SNR MEASUREMENT AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH DEVICE - A method and a device enable signal-to-noise (SNR) measurement. The system includes the following steps: (i) at least one first network component transmits bursts to at least one second network component, wherein each burst comprises several sub-carriers or tones; and (ii) a third network component performs an SNR measurement for the bursts. In addition, a communication system with such a device is described. | 05-26-2011
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DATA PROCESSING - A method and a device for data processing. The data processing method utilizes at least two probing coefficients in a canceller and/or precompensator in combination with SNR feedback to process data in the canceller and/or in the precompensator. | 12-01-2011

Quick-release adjustable mounting bracket - A quick-release adjustable mounting bracket to be detachably connected to, for example, a handlebar of a bicycle to permit, for example, a bright flashing light source to be attached to and removed from the handlebar without the use of tools so that neither the mounting bracket nor the light source need remain attached when the bicycle is not in use. The mounting bracket includes a grip to engage a portion of the handlebar and a light stand pivotally coupled to the grip. The light source is removably received by the light stand so that the light stand and the light source received thereby are rotatable relative to the grip. The grip includes a hook-shaped locking catch, a coupling cavity within which a plurality of spaced, parallel-aligned coupling pin retaining slots are formed, and a flexible clamping band. A locking latch pivotally coupled to a first end of the flexible clamping band is pulled towards and rotated into locking engagement with the locking catch. The flexible clamping band is adapted to be bent over the locking bar, whereby a coupling pin carried by the opposite end of the clamping band is releasably connected to one of the plurality of coupling pin retaining slots in the grip depending upon the size (e.g., diameter) of the handlebar to which the mounting bracket is to be detachably connected. | 08-12-2010

Cushion insert pad for a pair of riding shorts - A cushion pad insert to be attached to and carried by a conventional pair of riding shorts of the kind to be worn, for example, by one riding a bicycle. The cushion pad insert includes an intermediate gel layer that is sandwiched between top and bottom cover layers and sized so as to completely cover the bicycle seat whereby to reduce the impact forces generated by the seat against the rider's buttocks. A series of gel-containment compartments are formed in the intermediate gel layer of cushion pad insert. The gel-containment compartments are separated from one another by seals or similar flow barriers that prevent the migration of gel from one containment compartment to another. By virtue of the foregoing, the gel of the intermediate gel layer will be evenly distributed throughout the cushion pad insert while avoiding accumulation or bunching at one end thereof in order to eliminate the formation of voids in the gel layer and thereby maximize support for the rider's buttocks as he slides his body and shifts his weight along the bicycle seat. | 04-22-2010

Furniture system - A furniture system which is readily reconfigurable into a variety of work surface configurations and shelving configurations as well as additional component configurations associated therewith so as to readily adapt the furniture system to the specific needs of an office area. The system includes a system of brackets which readily accommodates mounting of work surfaces at a variety of elevations, and a shelving system which maintains shelves of different materials and thicknesses so that the top surfaces thereof align in a common plane. | 01-01-2009
Dowel assembly for a furniture system - A dowel assembly for a furniture system provides a fastener usable in assembling various components in a furniture system. The dowel may be employed to define the relationship between first and second components of the furniture system, such as the relationship between adjoining planar surfaces of adjacent furniture panels. The dowel is fitted with a cam such that the cam provides a non-uniform radius at the interface between the dowel and one of the components. Through selective positioning of the cam about the longitudinal axis of the dowel, the interface between components of the furniture system may be selectively adjusted to ensure flush alignment of contiguous surfaces. | 06-25-2009
STRUCTURAL TOP CAP ARRANGEMENT FOR WALL PANEL - An upright space-dividing wall panel is provided having an internal frame and a top cap attached to a top rail of the frame. The top cap includes a lengthwise channel in which threaded fasteners are slidably received for engaging the top cap to the frame rail. The top cap further includes side channels which cooperate with coupling brackets for securing a second panel to the wall panel. Further, a locator clip arrangement is provided between the top cap and a side trim cover on the end of the wall panel for precisely locating the trim cover relative to the top cap. | 02-23-2012
