20100069001METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION BETWEEN AT LEAST TWO COMMUNICATION DEVICES - This invention relates to a method and an apparatus for electronic communication between at least two communication devices. To allow reliable connection setup between the devices which are to be provided for communication at the same time as simple handling, a method according to the invention has the following steps: two communication devices intended for communication are associated with one another by means of a first coupling mechanism, and the communication between the mutually associated communication devices is performed by means of a second coupling mechanism, wherein the first coupling mechanism has a shorter range than the second coupling mechanism or is effected by means of physical contact between the communication devices.03-18-2010

20090100678ROCKET ENGINE NOZZLE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING A ROCKET ENGINE NOZZLE USING PRESSURE BRAZING - A method of fabrication of a rocket engine nozzle assembly using pressure brazing generally includes initially assembling a rocket engine nozzle liner into a rocket engine nozzle jacket for a rocket engine nozzle assembly. The rocket engine nozzle assembly may then be sealed. Prior to pressure brazing the rocket engine nozzle assembly, pressure brazing parameters may be determined. The pressure brazing may be performed with the determined pressure brazing parameters to complete the fabrication of the rocket engine nozzle. The rocket engine nozzle assembly may include a rocket engine nozzle jacket and a rocket engine nozzle liner having a plurality of channels, with the space between each channel defining a land, and the rocket engine nozzle liner having at least a pair of endlands disposed at each end thereof. The rocket engine nozzle liner is bonded to the rocket engine nozzle jacket by the endlands being bonded to the nozzle jacket and the lands being pressure brazed to the nozzle jacket.04-23-2009

20090005263Signal Amplification of Biorecognition Events Using Photopolymerization in the Presence of Air - The present invention discloses an inexpensive and non-enzymatic signal amplification technique on both DNA and protein microarrays. The technique is uses photo-initiated polymerization and is conducted directly on the microarray. A capture molecule is bound to the desired surface. The target molecule then binds to the capture molecule. A label sequence with a bound photo initiator binds to the target molecule. Polymerization is activated using a wave length of light corresponding to the wave length needed to activate the chosen photo initiator. This new non-enzymatic method can be applied to the rapid detection of any biological pathogen via either microarray or ELISA platforms. Influenza is described herein as an example application of the technology.01-01-2009

20080270709Shared closures on demand - A method and apparatus for copying data from a virtual machine to a shared closure on demand. This process improves system efficiency by avoiding the copying of data in the large number of cases where the same virtual machine is the next to request access and use of the data. Load balancing and failure recovery are supported by copying the data to the shared closure when the data is requested by another virtual machine or recovering the data from the failed virtual machine and storing it in the shared closure before a terminated virtual machine is discarded.10-30-2008
20100088675SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING POOLED THREAD-LOCAL CHARACTER ARRAYS - In one embodiment the present invention includes a virtual machine environment that performs string operations using borrowed character arrays. A method includes creating a character array area that is related to a thread. The method further includes detecting a string operation which qualifies for using a character array from the thread's character array area. The method further includes borrowing a character array of a character array slot of the character array area. The method further includes performing the string operation using the character array having been borrowed. The method further includes returning the character array to the character array slot when the string operation has been performed. In this manner, the time and memory consumed by string operations may be reduced.04-08-2010
