20100194383APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING AND/OR MONITORING A PROCESS VARIABLE - An apparatus for determining and/or monitoring at least one process variable of a medium. The apparatus includes: at least one probe unit; and at least one electronics unit, which supplies the probe unit with an operating signal and which receives from the probe unit a received signal. The probe unit includes at least one probe electrode and at least one guard electrode; and the probe electrode and the guard electrode are surrounded, at least partially, by at least one insulating unit. The the insulating unit has, in the region of the guard electrode, a smaller thickness than in the region of the probe electrode.08-05-2010

20120042691VAPOR RECOVERY SYSTEM UTILIZING COMPRESSION-CONDENSATION PROCESSES AND RELATED METHODS - An off gas extraction system cleans common sources of off gas, such as storage tanks and polluted soils. Off gas is extracted, followed by compression and condensation. Compression and condensation produce an off gas that can be reintroduced as a treated gas into the off gas source. Alternatively, a regenerative absorber cleans the treated gas by adsorbing residual chemical vapor and concentrates the removed chemical vapors and reprocesses them. If the treated gas is not reintroduced into the off gas source, conventional scrubbers may used on the back end of the system to produce a final exhaust as prescribed by environmental regulation. Methods of accomplishing the same are similarly provided, including novel methods for degassing storage tanks and treating polluted soils to meet current environmental regulations, as well as green technology and sustainability initiatives.02-23-2012

20110015418CROMATOGRAPHY PROCESS FOR RECOVERING A SUBSTANCE OR A GROUP OF SUBSTANCES FROM A MIXTURE - Method for improving the performance of a preparative batchwise Super Critical Fluid Chromatographic separation for the recovery of a target fatty acid or derivative thereof, or of a group of target fatty acids or of derivatives thereof from a mixture, characterized in that the said Super Critical Fluid Chromatographic separation employs a chromatographic column charged with a stationary phase chosen from the group consisting of aluminium oxide or aluminium oxides, titanium oxide or titanium oxides, silica gel or silica gels, amino propyl modified silica gels, diol modified silica gels, phenyl modified silica gels and “reversed phase” phases, the former in turn chosen from the group consisting of RP 18, RP8 and RP3, and in that the said Super Critical Fluid Chromatographic Separation further employs a mobile phase chosen from the group consisting of ethylene, propane, ammonia, dinitrogen dioxide and CO2, wherein in the said method, during the run of the said mixture on the chromatographic column, a pressure and/or temperature gradient is applied to the chromatographic column during the elution of the target fatty acid or derivative thereof.01-20-2011
20110033595Fatty acid fractionation process, fatty acid products and use thereof - The present invention relates to a concentration- and purification method for compositions containing phytanic acid and/or derivatives thereof besides other fatty acids and/or their derivatives, preferably besides polyunsaturated fatty acids and/or their derivatives, such as esters or salts. With the fractionation process the phytanic acid (derivative) can become concentrated and the fatty acid mixture, preferably PUFA-mixture, can be purified from this particular component.02-10-2011
