20090319781SECURE MESSAGE DELIVERY USING A TRUST BROKER - An email security system is described that allows users within different organizations to securely send email to one another. The email security system provides a federation server on the Internet or other unsecured network accessible by each of the organizations. Each organization provides identity information to the federation server. When a sender in one organization sends a message to a recipient in another organization, the federation server provides the sender's email server with a secure token for encrypting the message to provide secure delivery over the unsecured network.12-24-2009

20110145208POLICY DRIVEN DISTRIBUTED DATA RESILIENCY - A data resiliency layer provides manageable data resiliency policy options for email related applications. Through one or more APIs such applications are enabled to query whether a data resiliency policy is satisfied for a given mailbox or database at a given point in time. Email related applications may consume this information to modify their behavior such as to wait, repeat, or fail the actions at hand to the point where data committal is guaranteed to a degree specified by the data resiliency policy.06-16-2011
20110145565FEDERATED AUTHENTICATION FOR MAILBOX REPLICATION - A data replication mechanism is proposed that relies on existing federation infrastructure enabling distributed authentication instead of storing and using explicit credentials for a remote forest. The data replication mechanism requests a federation token with data replication capabilities targeted to the remote forest and passes this token to the remote forest in lieu of explicit credentials.06-16-2011
20110167039DISTRIBUTED THROTTLING FOR MAILBOX DATA REPLICATION - Distributed mailbox data replication agents are employed to adjust load on mail system resources by enabling the agents to receive a throttling policy, resource capacity, and current usage information. Each agent preparing to access the resource (e.g. provide replicated data) may then throttle itself ensuring optimum resource usage. The agents may receive the information by querying the resource, which monitors accessing agents and their types, or from a shared space instead of directly from the resource.07-07-2011

20080201195SYSTEM AND METOD FOR TRANSFORMING AN ENTERPRISE USING A COMPONENT BUSINESS MODEL - A system and method are described for using a Component Business Model (CBM) to transform a business. A CBM map is used to identify components that collaborate to provide a specified capability, and a repository supporting the CBM map is filtered to provide a view of the identified components that highlights how they collaborate. The view is used to identify component features contributing to the specified capability. The specified capability is then enhanced by a transformation strategy that includes re-engineering particular components, identifying a pattern characterizing the collaboration between components and adding a component to perform the collaborative pattern, and/or adding an additional feature to the collaboration and adding component to perform the additional feature. The CBM repository provides exemplar best practices that can be adapted for use in a re-engineered component.08-21-2008
20080215398SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING A COMPONENT BUSINESS MODEL TO MANAGE AN ENTERPRISE - A method and system are described for using the structure and relationships between components in a component business model of an enterprise to assign components providing monitoring data to a management component. In response to the monitoring data, the management component executes a business rule invoking a service that alters a behavior of the enterprise. The management component contains data rules limiting the information provided by the assigned components, analysis rules defining the interaction between components, and report rules for consolidating recommendations for altering behavior of the enterprise, including decisions to invest in certain aspects of the business, to reengineer certain processes of the business, and to alter operation of certain aspects of the business.09-04-2008
20080221940SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING THE COMPONENT BUSINESS MODEL TO ANALYZE BUSINESS VALUE DRIVERS - The method and system uses the component business model as a framework for locating business activities. Business value drivers are identified, related in an influence model, and structured into a prioritized driver tree. The driver tree is used to determine the relative contributions of leaf drivers to the overall value of the business. Business activities contributing to the leaf drivers are then identified, and the relative contributions of the leaf drivers are allocated to the business activities and then rolled up to the components for display as a heat map overlay on a component map.09-11-2008

20090324318Single-Use Cosmetic Package - A single-use cosmetic package has a pouch with a front wall and a back wall. A wand is stored in the pouch. Upper and lower seals hermetically seal the perimeter of the pouch. A middle seal divides the pouch into a product reservoir in a lower half of the pouch and a dry chamber in the upper half. The wand projects from a handle end in the dry chamber through the middle seal to an applicator end in the product reservoir. A dog-bone shaped sealing structure on the wand forms a hermetic seal with the middle seal. The dry chamber is opened by pulling opposite tabs to peel the front wall from the back wall. When the wand is pulled from the pouch, a flange on the wand expands the middle seal to form a wiper opening in the product reservoir. The wiper opening is sized to wipe the applicator end of the wand, or an applicator attached to the end of the wand.12-31-2009
20110103878Ceramic Cosmetic Applicator - A cosmetic applicator formed from ceramic material designed to provide a product chilling effect when applying creams, lotions, treatment products, etc. The applicator is provided with a relatively substantial mass so that it has a greater thermal capacity than the dose of cosmetic and the application area combined. The applicator is in the form of a molded-ceramic applicator head or applicator tip designed to provide a relatively larger product-chilling effect to both the dose of cosmetic applied and to the user's skin in the application area when applying creams, lotions, treatment products, etc. The applicator provides an application device which will deliver the creams, lotions, treatment products, etc. such that the temperature of the product being delivered is lower than the temperature of the skin, and to provide a means of lowering the temperature of the skin by virtue of the thermal absorption capacity of the applicator head or tip, and to provide a vehicle by which formulations may be activated or enhanced by specific compounds in the ceramic material from which the applicator tip is comprised.05-05-2011

20090024116LASER HAIR AND SCALP TREATMENT DEVICE - A handled laser treatment device provides a plurality of branched light pipes or light distribution tips distributed so as to evenly deliver laser radiation to the surface of the scalp. To make efficient use of each laser diode, each laser can coupled to a branched light pipe with the branches arranged to distribute light directly to the surface of the scalp. Each laser source is connected to a three branch light pipe. Alternatively, each laser diode can be directly coupled to a light distribution tip arranged in a triad. Each light pipe or light distribution tip acts as a tine or tooth in a comb to bring laser radiation to the scalp free of obstruction by hair, etc., with a tripod configuration that allows each light pipe assembly to evenly contact the rounded surface of the scalp. The branched light pipes or the light distribution tips are preferentially coupled to a flexible membrane so as to be capable of independent orientation allowing improved contact of the distal ends of the tripods or triads to the scalp.01-22-2009
20090199860Applicator for hair building solids - An improved applicator for hair building cosmetic fibers, powders and particles uses a gentle stream of gas to suspend the fibers and waft them onto the user's scalp. A low pressure, low velocity gas stream directed downwards into a mass of fibers in a closed container suspends them. The suspended fibers exit through a small orifice connected with a passageway ending in a nozzle. The suspended fibers are propelled from the bulb in a directed fashion to settle naturally in a controlled area. If a rubber bulb is used to supply air to suspend the fibers, a user can gently squeeze the bulb to allow controlled puffs of air and fibers to waft onto controlled regions of the scalp. A valve arrangement can be operated to provide an air stream to remove excess deposited fibers from regions of the scalp.08-13-2009
