20090099586COMPACT MULTI-USE LANCING DEVICE - A multi-use micro-sampling or lancing device having an outer housing, a lancet holder that engages a lancet and constrains the lancet along a controlled and pre-defined path of travel during the lancing stroke, and a drive mechanism with a pair of opposed, off-axis torsion springs working in tandem to drive and return the lancet holder through its lancing stroke.04-16-2009
20100106174LANCING DEVICE AND MULTI-LANCET CARTRIDGE - A medical lancing device including a replaceable multi-lancet cartridge. The lancing device includes a drive mechanism, an activation mechanism, and an advancing mechanism. The advancing mechanism includes a linear-pull slide that is moved in and out to operate an indexing ratchet mechanism, a cam-guided charger mechanism, and a cam-guided lancet cap displacement mechanism. The indexing ratchet mechanism sequentially advances the lancets in the cartridge to an active position. The cam-guided charger mechanism charges the drive mechanism and separates the cap from the active lancet. And the cam-guided cap displacement mechanism moves the separated cap from the lancing stroke path of the active lancet. The activation mechanism then releases the charged active lancet to traverse the unobstructed lancing stroke path to pierce the subject's skin at a desired lancing site.04-29-2010
20110087134LANCING DEVICES HAVING LANCET EJECTION ASSEMBLY - A lancing device is provided for use with a removable lancet. The lancing device includes a housing and a lancet carrier slidably disposed within the housing and adapted to receive the lancet. A user-actuated ejection slide is mounted to the housing to eject the lancet from the lancet carrier. A locking member is pivotally mounted to the housing. As the ejection slide moves forward, it rotates the locking member to block forward movement of the lancet carrier during ejection. The locking member is configured so that substantially all of the force exerted on it by the lancet carrier is transmitted to the housing via the pivotal mounting.04-14-2011

20100036408RETRACTABLE LANCET AND RETRACTION MECHANISM FOR USE THEREWITH - A lancet for use with a lancing device, the lancet including a lancet body and a lancet needle. The lancet needle has a tip for piercing a subject's skin, and the tip of the lancet needle is retractable into the lancet body after use to prevent user contact with the now-contaminated tip. The needle retraction may be effected by a retraction mechanism including a control member with a cam surface and a ram surface and a lever with a cam follower and a needle engagement or stop member. As the control member is moved relative to the lancet, the cam follower transcribes the cam surface, which causes the engagement or stop member to retract the lancet.02-11-2010

20100036967Systems and methods for multimedia content sharing - The invention provides, in one aspect, a multimedia content sharing system that includes (i) a shared content server which stores items of content (such as still, moving images and audio) and (ii) a plurality of nodes, each of which is in communications with the shared content server via cellular telephone and/or other data networks. The shared content server transmits items of content to a first set of the nodes “automatically,” e.g., without requests by users of those nodes for the items. At least one node in that first set displays the content of received items (e.g., on an LCD screen) and accepts user feedback in regard to those items. That feedback—which may be, for example, a command to copy an item into an “album”, to rotate an item on the display, to block another node from displaying the items, and/or to block a sender (or creator) of the item from sending further items of content from presenting—is transmitted back to the shared content server for distribution to other nodes, which alter their own respective displays of the items accordingly.02-11-2010
20110246945SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MULTIMEDIA CONTENT SHARING WITH REMOVEABLY COUPLED HEADLESS COMPUTING AND/OR COMMUNICATIONS NODES - The invention provides, in one aspect, a multimedia content sharing system that includes (i) a shared content server which stores items of content (such as still, moving images and audio) and (ii) a plurality of nodes, each of which is in communications with the shared content server via cellular telephone and/or other data networks. One or more of those nodes can be a headless communications device, such as a modem, that can be removeably coupled with a host for purposes of displaying such items of content. Other nodes can be mobile phones, personal digital assistants, network-enabled digital picture frames, personal computers, with integral or other attendant displays for those items. The shared content server transmits items of content to a first set of the nodes “automatically,” e.g., without requests by users of those nodes for the items. At least one node in that first set displays the content of received items (e.g., on an LCD screen) and accepts user feedback in regard to those items. That feedback—which may be, for example, a command to copy an item into an “album”, to rotate an item on the display, to block another node from displaying the items, and/or to block a sender (or creator) of the item from sending further items of content from presenting—is transmitted back to the shared content server for distribution to other nodes, which alter their own respective displays of the items accordingly.10-06-2011

20090139638METHODS FOR ADHESIVE HEIGHT SETTING - Methods for adhering parts together using part gap spacers are provided herein. Part gap spacers are formed in a selected pattern and a selected height on a surface of at least one surface of two parts to be oppositely disposed. When disposed opposite each other, at least some of the part gap spacers contact the opposite surface, and establish a standoff distance that is generally uniform, and thereby creating voids. Adhesive is disposed in at least some of the voids to adhere the part surfaces to each other. Further methods comprise forming part gap spacers on multiple sides of a third part to be disposed intermediate two surfaces. The part gap spacers can be formed in a variety of shapes, including bumps, tapers, ribs, and flange edges.06-04-2009
