20100133756Shaft seal for steam turbines - A shaft seal for steam turbines is provided. The shaft seal steam barrier is supplied with a slight excess pressure. In order to avoid complex additional devices necessary for liquefying the water vapor once again, a condensation chamber, which is sealed from the surrounding air as well as from the steam barrier chamber with brush seals, is provided between the steam barrier chamber and the surrounding air. The condensation chamber is constructed in such a manner that the heat, developing in the interior thereof, is discharged to the outside.06-03-2010

20110294194EFFICIENT CELL CULTURE SYSTEM FOR HEPATITIS C VIRUS GENOTYPE 2B - The present inventors developed hepatitis C virus 2b/2a intergenotypic recombinants in which the JFH1 structural genes (Core, E1 and E2), p7 and the complete NS2 were replaced by the corresponding genes of the genotype 2b reference strain J8. Sequence analysis of recovered 2b/2a recombinants from 2 transfection experiments revealed that 2b/2a was genetically stable. Conclusion: The developed 2b/2a viruses provide a robust in vitro tool for research in HCV genotype 2b, including vaccine studies and functional analyses.12-01-2011

20090054601COMPOSITION FOR MAINTAINING GOOD COLOR WHEN THERMALLY TREATING POLYESTER-POLYAMIDE BLENDS - A specially structured article is described which allows products made from the article to undergo a second heating without a dramatic color shift. This permits more recycled products from the material used to make the article.02-26-2009
20090239077Compartmentalized Resin Pellets - This invention discloses a process and a necessary article to simultaneously thermally treat at least two thermoplastics. The process utilizes the necessary compartmentalized or zoned pellet construction wherein the major amount of each thermoplastic component is located within individual compartments or zones of the pellet such that the components of the reaction during thermal processing and/or reactions with compounds in the atmosphere such as oxygen are less than the reaction if the thermoplastics were homogeneously dispersed in the pellet. This invention allows the components of the multi-component pellets to be thermally treated together without significant degradation and/or stored in air or in the presence of oxygen without significant degradation.09-24-2009
20100316824POLYAMIDE-POLYDIENE BLENDS WITH IMPROVED OXYGEN REACTIVITY - This application discloses the use of polyamide-polydiene blends to improve the oxygen reactivity in the presence of ionic polyester compatibilizers.12-16-2010

20080250960Method for mounting cylindrically-shaped printing forms - The invention provides a method and apparatus for mounting two or more cylindrically-shaped printing forms onto a cylindrically-shaped base. The base can be a print cylinder or an adapter mounted onto a print cylinder. The method and apparatus provide for positioning the two or more printing forms in register on the base. The two or more printing forms are axially oriented on the base using pressurized air as an air cushion between the base and the printing forms, positioned in a registration position, and engaged by a holding member to maintain the two or more printing forms in their respective registration position.10-16-2008

20100046326Method and apparatus for detection and classification of a swimming object - A method and apparatus for detecting and classifying submerged swimming object from a passive signal generated by, and an active signal reflected from the object. In a first input of a passive mode branch a first signal representative of the passive signal is received. A second signal representative of the active signal is received in a second input of an active mode branch. In the active mode branch, the first signal is processed to generate a first classification estimate output, with first clues, of the most probable class of target for the object. In the passive mode branch, the second signal is processed to generate a second classification estimate output, with first clues, of the most probable class of target for the object. Both estimate outputs are received in a merger, for generating a merged classification estimate output with clues, which is input to a joint classifier that classifies the object.02-25-2010
