20110137378Telemetry System for Use With Microstimulator - An implantable microstimulator configured to be implanted beneath a patient's skin for tissue stimulation employs a bi-directional RF telemetry link for allowing data-containing signals to be sent to and from the implantable microstimulator from at least two external devices. Further, a separate electromagnetic inductive telemetry link allows data containing signals to be sent to the implantable microstimulator from at least one of the two external devices. The RF bidirectional telemetry link allows the microstimulator to inform the patient or clinician regarding the status of the microstimulator device, including the charge level of a power source, and stimulation parameter states. The microstimulator has a cylindrical hermetically sealed case having a length no greater than about 27 mm and a diameter no greater than about 3.3 mm. A reference electrode is located on one end of the case and an active electrode is located on the other end of the case.06-09-2011

20110288722VEHICLE CALIBRATION USING DATA COLLECTED DURING NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS - Systems and methods for optimizing the performance of a vehicle under normal operating conditions. A vehicle system adjusts one or more vehicle operating parameters in a closed-loop in response to data received from sensors. A portable vehicle communication interface module is selectively attached to the vehicle without inhibiting normal operation of the vehicle. When connected to the vehicle, the vehicle communication interface module records the adjustments made by the vehicle system in closed-loop operation. These recorded values are then used to update calibration information that the vehicle system uses as default values.11-24-2011

20110062352DEVICE FOR USE IN NORMALIZING READINGS ON A TESTING MACHINE - An optic module verification device for normalizing between X photon counters, including a verification tray with X verification wells and a modular photon emitter in each verification well. Each photon emitter includes a spring, a Beta source disk, a scintillator disk adjacent the Beta source disk, and a neutral density filter over the scintillator disk, all of which are encapsulated in a cylindrical chamber with the filter adjacent an opening on one end of the chamber and the spring biasing the Beta source disk and the scintillator disk toward the opening. The device is periodically used for normalization, and may be updated when emitted photons fall below a desired level by replacing the scintillator disk and then determining a new normalized reference values for each photon emitter.03-17-2011

20100158376SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LABELING AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CONNECTED REGIONS IN A BINARY MASK - Systems and methods, which is based on preprocessing of a binary image into runs of adjacent white pixels, rapidly labels the connected components of the binary image, calculates the ellipse parameters of the connected regions, identifies connected regions which are distant from known foreground regions, and identifies those pixels whose Euclidean distance from the input binary mask is between two thresholds. The execution time of the first phase, the scanning of the input image and identification of adjacent runs of white pixels, scales as the number of pixels, is CPU memory cache sensitive, and very simple. The execution time of the subsequent processing stages for the various components of the systems and methods scale as the number of runs of pixels, so in most cases, for large input images, is considerably faster than conventional processes, which scale as the number of pixels.06-24-2010
