| 20090158500 | Cuff for storing object around wrist - A method of making a cuff by obtaining a piece of flexible material in the shape of a rectangle having first and second longitudinal edges, front and back faces, and first and second latitudinal edges; folding over the first and second latitudinal edges to meet the parallel fold lines; uniting the latitudinal edges to the fold lines to form first and second hems; folding a first half of the flexible material back over a second half of the flexible material along the third fold line so that the front face is on the interior and hems are on the exterior forming a tube; uniting the first and second longitudinal edges to form a flat tube having a closed tube edge, which is divided into a first closed tube edge and a second closed tube edge; folding the first closed tube edge over the second closed tube edge along a fourth fold line, which is perpendicular to the closed tube edge, so that the second hem is brought adjacent to but does not overlap the first hem to form a folded flattened tube; uniting the first closed tube edge over the second closed tube edge; turning the folded flattened tube inside out to form a cuff so that the front face forms an exterior surface of the cuff. | 06-25-2009 |

| 20080313544 | PROGRAMMED APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR DYNAMIC DISPLAY OF PRESENTATION FILES - A method of preparing and displaying a cumulative presentation and a presentation system are provided. A listing of available individual presentation files is provided through a user interface. Each of the presentation files comprises a plurality of presentation slides. A user is queried through the user interface to select presentation files from the available individual presentation files for inclusion in a cumulative presentation in a selected presentation order. A listing of presentation files selected by the user is displayed in the user interface. In response to a first command received from the user, a first slide from a first presentation from the cumulative presentation is provided to a display device for display thereon. In response to a second command received from the user, a second slide from the cumulative presentation is provided to the display device for display thereon. | 12-18-2008 |

| 20120064010 | CCR3 and its Ligands Are Therapeutic and Diagnostic Targets for Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration - The results presented herein demonstrate the specific expression of CCR3 in CNV endothelial cells in humans with AMD, and despite the expression of its ligands, eotaxin-1, -2, and -3, neither eosinophils nor mast cells are present in human CNV. The genetic or pharmacological targeting of CCR3 or eotaxins as disclosed herein inhibited injury-induced CNV in mice. CNV suppression by CCR3 blockade was due to direct inhibition of endothelial cell proliferation, and was uncoupled from inflammation as it occurred in mice lacking eosinophils or mast cells and was independent of macrophage and neutrophil recruitment. CCR3 blockade was more effective at reducing CNV than vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) neutralization, which is currently in clinical use, and, unlike VEGF-A blockade, not toxic to the mouse retina. In vivo imaging with CCR3-targeting quantum dots located spontaneous CNV invisible to standard fluorescein angiography in mice before retinal invasion. CCR3 targeting is useful in reducing vision loss due to AMD through early detection and therapeutic angioinhibition. | 03-15-2012 |

| 20080249393 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENHANCEMENT AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF ANALYTE MEASUREMENT SIGNALS - While measuring analytes in an object, movements between the object and a device that is taking the measurement may adversely effect the accuracy of the measurements. A probe that engages an object includes a sticky surface that comes into contact with the object to alleviate the relative movement between the probe and the object. The sticky substance can be applied in a variety of manners and embodiments and in general, helps to reduce the relative movement. In addition, the probe may include the ability to apply pressure to the object. The pressure can range from a slight pressure to help reduce relative movement to a pressure that exceeds systolic pressure, thereby constricting the flow of blood through the object. | 10-09-2008 |
