20090147005 | Methods, systems and computer readable media facilitating visualization of higher dimensional datasets in a two-dimensional format - Methods, systems and computer readable media for representing multidimensional data derived from molecular separation processing to resemble a two-dimensional display created from a molecular separation process producing data values for two different properties. Multidimensional data having values for at least three different properties of molecules separated by the molecular separation processing is received. Data values for a first of the at least three different properties are plotted relative to data values for a second of the at least three different properties in a two-dimensional plot. The first and second properties are the same properties as those plotted in the two-dimensional display created from the molecular separation process producing values for two different properties. Data values for a third of the properties are represented by varying the graphic representation of the data values plotted for the first and second of the properties. | 06-11-2009 |
20090192719 | Exploratory visualization of protein complexes by molecular weight - Methods, user interfaces, systems and computer readable media for visualizing data to facilitate analysis of the data. Mass data values are provided for a sample having been separated into portions according to a first characteristic of the sample, the slices having been processed to provide the mass data values of members of the sample occurring in the portions. A plot of the mass data values is displayed on a first axis versus the portions on a second axis of the plot. A mass data value of a member may be selected on the plot, and all mass data values occurring in the portion in which the selected mass data value is located are displayed using first visual indicators that are visibly distinct from visual indicators used to display data values occurring outside of the portion in which the selected data value is located. | 07-30-2009 |
20100128988 | Cellular- or Sub-Cellular-Based Visualization Information Using Virtual Stains - Methods, systems and computer readable storage media for providing image-extracted measurements extracted from an image of at least one cell or subcellular component with the image. At least one attribute is determined from the image-extracted measurement of the at least one cell or sub-cellular component. The image of the at least one cell or sub-cellular component is virtually stained with at least one color, wherein different colors represent different attributes, and wherein the at least one color is virtually stained in locations of the image from where the image-extracted measurements were extracted for the attribute that that color represents. | 05-27-2010 |
20100188406 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FOCUS PLUS CONTEXT VIEWING OF DENSE, ORDERED LINE GRAPHS - Systems, methods and computer readable storage media for displaying a dense graph and details of a portion of the dense graph on a display are provided. A processor coupled to memory, an input device and a display are provided to perform operations including: locally distorting a portion of the dense graph identified by interaction through the input device, wherein the local distortion includes expanding the portion of the dense graph along a first dimension axis of the graph, compressing at least one adjacent portion of the dense graph adjacent the expanded portion, and maintaining a scale of all of the dense graph in a second dimension orthogonal to the first dimension. The dense graph and expanded and compressed portions are displayed on the display, wherein all of the graph represented by the display signal on the display prior to performing the local distortion operation is displayed after performing the local distortion operation. In at least one embodiment, the system comprises an oscilloscope. | 07-29-2010 |
20100191790 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CORRELATION SCORING OF SIGNALS - Systems, methods and computer readable storage media are provided for identifying, in a signal of interest, signal segments matching a reference signal segment. A processor coupled to memory is adapted to perform operations including: converting the reference signal segment to a first vector characterized by n pairs of data points, wherein n is an integer greater than zero and each pair of data points comprises a data point having a value along the first axis and a value along a second axis normal to the first axis. Segment of the signal of interest are converted to additional vectors, wherein each of the segments of the signal of interest has a first length in a direction along the first axis and has n pairs of data points. A correlation value is calculated between the reference signal segment and each of the segments of the signal of interest, using the first vector and the additional vectors, respectively. An estimation of the magnitude of the reference signal segment relative to at least a subset of the segments of the signal of interest for which correlation values have indicated relatively similar correlation is calculated. | 07-29-2010 |

20090125152 | METHOD OF MEASUREMENT, CONTROL, AND REGULATION FOR THE SOLAR THERMAL HYBRIDIZATION OF A FOSSIL FIRED RANKINE CYCLE - A method of measurement, control, and regulation for a solar integrated Rankine cycle power generation system can include a central processing unit (CPU) which receives input from an operator and/or sensors regarding load forecast, weather forecast, system cost, and capacity or efficiency needs. The method can include activation, in various sequencing, of heat transfer fluid control valves, storage control valves, and at least one turbine control valve. | 05-14-2009 |
20110000213 | METHOD AND SYSTEM INTEGRATING SOLAR HEAT INTO A REGENERATIVE RANKINE STEAM CYCLE - A method to integrate collected solar thermal energy into the feedwater system of a Rankine cycle power plant is disclosed. This novelty uses a closed loop, single phase fluid system to collect both the solar heat and to provide the heat input into the feedwater stream of a regenerative Rankine cycle. One embodiment of this method of integrating solar energy into a regenerative Rankine power plant cycle, such as a coal power plant, allows for automatic balancing of the steam extraction flows and does not change the temperature of the feedwater to the boiler. The concept, depending on the application, allows for the spare turbine capacity normally available in a coal plant to be used to produce incremental capacity and energy that is powered by solar thermal energy. By “piggybacking” on the available components and infrastructure of the host Rankine cycle power plant, considerable cost savings are achieved resulting in lower solar produced electricity costs. | 01-06-2011 |
20150027121 | Method to integrate regenerative rankine cycle into combined cycle applications - A system is disclosed that incorporates a regenerative Rankine cycle integrated with a conventional combined cycle. An added duct firing array, typically located after the combustion turbine exhaust and before the conventionally designed Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), is used to boost enthalpy of said exhaust. An added heating element downstream of the firing array provides sufficient heating for sensible heating, evaporation and superheating of feedwater that has been previously heated by feedwater heaters as part of a regenerative Rankine cycle. In practice, the condensate stream from the condenser is bifurcated such that a dedicated feedwater flow is directed to feedwater heaters. After further heating in the added heating element, the superheated steam, at the same pressure and temperature as the main steam, is now mixed with the main steam prior to turbine entry. The condensate is directed to the HRSG to be heated in conventional fashion. | 01-29-2015 |
