20110152799REDUCED-PRESSURE, MULTI-ORIENTATION, LIQUID-COLLECTION CANISTER - A liquid-collection canister includes a liquid collection chamber defined by at least one wall and a first and second gas-communication pathway formed within the at least one wall. A first aperture is positioned between the first gas-communication pathway and the liquid collection chamber to allow gaseous communication between the liquid collection chamber and the first gas-communication pathway. A second aperture is positioned between the second gas-communication pathway and the liquid collection chamber to allow gaseous communication between the liquid collection chamber and the second gas-communication pathway. A first and a second liquid-air separator are positioned over the first aperture and the second aperture, respectively, to substantially prevent liquid passing through the first and second apertures.06-23-2011

20090198291BONE SCREW - A bone screw and method of inserting a bone screw into a bone is disclosed. In one example, the bone screw includes a tip segment for creating a starter hole in the bone. A pilot segment is located proximally of the tip segment for creating a pilot hole in the bone after creation of the starter hole. The starter hole and pilot hole are created by a longitudinal pushing force exerted on the bone screw by the surgeon. A threaded segment is located proximally of the pilot segment for fixedly securing the bone screw in the bone by the use of a rotational force exerted on the bone screw by the surgeon. A head is located proximally of the threaded segment for allowing the bone screw to affix an implant or other soft tissue to the bone. In one embodiment the implant is a plate.08-06-2009
20110054542SYSTEM WITH INTEGRAL LOCKING MECHANISM - A system for affixing at least two portions of bone is provided. The system has a first end cap, a second end cap, and a linking member extending between the first end cap and the second end cap, wherein the first end cap has at least one leg configured to connect the linking member to the first end cap and configured to retain said connection.03-03-2011
20110054543LOCKING MECHANISM - A stratum to be affixed to bone is disclosed. The stratum has a first surface, a second surface, and at least one hole extending between the first surface and the second surface, wherein the second surface is configured to engage at least a portion of the bone, and wherein the stratum is further configured to deflect, allowing a fastener to pass at least partially through the hole.03-03-2011
20110054544SYSTEM WITH INTEGRAL LOCKING MECHANISM - A stratum to be affixed to bone is disclosed. The stratum has a first surface, a second surface, and at least one hole extending between the first surface and the second surface, wherein the second surface is configured to engage at least a portion of the bone, and wherein the stratum further has a slot in the stratum that extends from the at least one hole to another location on the stratum, and the stratum is further configured to deflect, allowing a fastener to pass at least partially through the hole.03-03-2011

20120088424DIMENSIONALLY STABLE NONWOVEN FIBROUS WEBS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME - Dimensionally stable nonwoven fibrous webs include a multiplicity of continuous fibers formed from one or more thermoplastic polyesters and polypropylene in an amount greater than 0% and no more than 10% by weight of the web. The webs have at least one dimension which decreases by no greater than 10% in the plane of the web when heated to a temperature above a glass transition temperature of the fibers. When the thermoplastic polyester is selected to include aliphatic and aromatic polyesters, a spunbond process may be used to produce substantially continuous fibers that exhibit molecular orientation. When the thermoplastic polyester is selected from aliphatic polyesters, a meltblown process may be used to produce discontinuous fibers that do not exhibit molecular orientation. The webs may be used as articles for filtration, sound absorption, thermal insulation, surface cleaning, cellular growth support, drug delivery, personal hygiene, medical apparel, or wound dressing.04-12-2012
