20100279207Fuel cell with integral manifold - A MEMS-based fuel cell has a substrate, an electrolyte in contact with the substrate, a cathode in contact with the electrolyte, an anode spaced apart from the cathode and in contact with the electrolyte, and an integral manifold for supplying either a fuel or an oxidant or both together, the integral manifold extending over at least a portion of the electrolyte and over at least one of the anode and cathode. Methods for making and using arrays of the fuel cells are disclosed.11-04-2010
20100328668COLOR DETECTOR - A color detector includes a light source, a photodiode, and a filter tuned to only allow light of a specific color to pass through to the photodiode. When the light reaches the photodiode, the photodiode outputs a current that indicates that the color is present in the light. The filter may include a pair of partially reflective layers consisting of a reflective metal, such as silver. To prevent the metal from oxidizing or reacting with the environment, the partially reflective layers may be coated with a protective layer, such as aluminum nitride. The color detector may further include a color enhancing layer. Finally, the color detector may include a capping layer. Accordingly, the color detector provided herein allows for the filter to use metals for partially reflective layers that would normally oxidize, as well as detect light of a specific spectrum of wavelengths.12-30-2010

20080300063PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - Playground equipment may include a seesaw. The seesaw may include a first seat and a second seat facing the first seat. The playground equipment may include one or more additional seats that may face away from the first and second seats and which may be disposed at least proximate a pivot point of the seesaw. The playground equipment may be sized and configured to rock back and forth, for example, in a direction different from the direction that the seesaw moves.12-04-2008
20090114131EDGE AND CORNER FOR A STRUCTURE CONSTRUCTED FROM BLOW-MOLDED PLASTIC - A structure constructed from plastic may include may include one or more reinforcing portions that are sized and configured to prevent damage to the structure. For example, the structure may be a table top constructed from blow-molded plastic and the table top may include a body with one or more corners. The corners may include an interior portion and an exterior portion, and reinforcement portions may be sized and configured to help prevent damage to the corners of the table top. In addition, one or more depressions may be at least partially disposed within the reinforcement portions, if desired. The reinforcement portions, for example, may include one or more inwardly and/or outwardly extending portions.05-07-2009
20100012795PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - A support member for playground equipment may include a first section with a flared end and a second section with a tapered end. An opening may be disposed in the flared end of the first section and an elongated slot may be disposed in the tapered end of the second section. When the tapered and flared ends are initially connected, the openings may be aligned and a fastener may be inserted into the aligned openings. When the tapered and flared ends are forced together and overlap a greater amount, which may create a more secure connection, the fastener may help keep in the first and second sections in alignment and may help prevent unintended rotational movement of the first and second sections.01-21-2010
