| 20090152070 | CONTROLLER FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - During a period wherein a manual shift valve moves to a P gear range position after issuance of a D-to-P instruction instructing that a vehicle be stopped, an interior of an automatic transmission is interlocked. Specifically, the interior of the automatic transmission is interlocked by, in addition to engagement of a first clutch serving as a friction engagement element of a first gear range of the automatic transmission, by engaging a second brake causing an engine brake to act and a third brake forming a reverse gear range, and therefore, motion of the vehicle is prevented in a period between issuance of the P instruction instructing a vehicle stop operation, and actual shifting to the P gear range. | 06-18-2009 |
| 20100044179 | FRICTIONAL ENGAGEMENT APPARATUS - In a frictional engagement apparatus that includes a clutch drum, separator plates, a clutch hub, and friction plates, a plurality of concave portions that dip inward in the plate thickness direction and a plurality of convex portions that protrude outward in the plate thickness direction are formed on an edge of the separator plates and/or a an edge of the friction plates, with each convex portion being arranged between two adjacent concave portions. Ridge lines of the concave portions and the convex portions pass through positions away from a center point of the separator plates and/or the friction plates. | 02-25-2010 |
| 20100095795 | Transmission - A transmission includes a case having an internal space; a first partition wall which is provided in the case and forms a boundary between a first chamber which is arranged in the case and houses a rotating object, and a second chamber which is arranged in the case, is connected to the first chamber, and maintains equal pressure between the first chamber and outside air; a second partition wall which is provided in the case and forms a boundary between the second chamber and a third chamber which is arranged in the case and stores fluid below the second chamber; and a third partition wall which is provided in the case and forms a boundary between the first chamber and the third chamber. A first hole and a second hole are formed in that order from the first chamber side in the second partition wall. | 04-22-2010 |
| 20100282558 | HYDRAULIC CONTROL DEVICE OF LOCKUP CLUTCH - A hydraulic control device for a lockup clutch prevents stagnation and accumulation of air bubbles in a torque converter when a vehicle is at a stop at low oil temperature, preventing impairment of vehicle drive performance caused by insufficient transmission torque at the time of start of the vehicle. It occurs sometimes that air-mixed hydraulic oil is supplied into a torque converter from a second oil path when a vehicle is at a stop, with a transmission set to a drive range such as a D range, at a low oil temperature in a time, for example, immediately after an engine is started. In such a case, when a lockup clutch is disengaged, in which a second line hydraulic pressure is supplied from the second oil path to the lockup clutch, a third oil path is interrupted (closed) to prohibit discharge of the hydraulic oil. As a result, despite large pipe path resistance due to low viscosity, the hydraulic oil in the torque converter is reliably discharged from a first oil path to an oil cooler via a cooler oil path. Thus, air bubbles in the torque converter are reduced with the discharge of the hydraulic oil. | 11-11-2010 |
