METHOD FOR SECURE TRANSFER OF MULTIPLE SMALL MESSAGES - A method and system for securely transferring a multiplicity of short messages using an unsecure connection begins by loading a secure domain component on a client device using a secure connection and then loading an unsecure domain component on the client device. Encrypted messages are sent from an unsecure server to the unsecure domain component. The client device transfers the received encrypted message from the unsecure domain to the secure domain, where the secure domain component decrypts the received encrypted messages. This method works repeatedly without reloading either the secure domain component or the unsecure domain component and by using the unsecure connection to transfer the encrypted messages. | 01-26-2012

REAL TIME PROTOCOL STREAM MIGRATION - A method for monitoring and migrating a primary server transmitting a real time streaming protocol (RTSP) stream is provided. Backup servers monitor at least one primary server to determining whether the primary server is active. Upon determining that a primary server is inactive, the backup servers take over the connection on which the inactive primary server was streaming data and then take over the transmission of the RTSP stream. The backup server can further derive the position in a file of the next data needed to be transmitted. | 06-03-2010

Method for modeling and parameter extraction of LDMOS devices - A method for modeling the performance of a laterally diffused metal oxide semiconductor (LDMOS) device across a wide temperature range is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of positioning the device in an environment chamber operable to create a plurality of environment temperatures; connecting the pins of the device to a measurement system operable to measure at least one device characteristic; operating the environment chamber to set a series of four environment temperatures, acquiring a value of the device characteristic from the measurement system at each temperature, and extracting a temperature parameter set based on the value of the device characteristic at each temperature, then generating a temperature-scaling model for the device. | 12-01-2011

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING ANALYTE CONCENTRATIONS - An apparatus and method for determining an analyte concentration of a sample, such as a tissue sample. The apparatus may comprise an emitter, close proximity detectors laterally located less than about 2 mm away from the emitter, and far away detectors laterally located greater than about 0.5 cm away from the emitter. A plurality of wavelengths may be sent from the emitter to the sample, reflected off of the sample, and received by the detectors. The reflectance value measured by the close proximity detectors may be used to calculate one or more scattering coefficients. The reflectance value measured by the far away detectors may be compared with a reflectance value calculated using the scattering coefficients in a numerical inversion of a diffusion model to determine the analyte concentration of the sample. | 11-10-2011

INSULIN FORMULATIONS FOR INSULIN RELEASE AS A FUNCTION OF TISSUE GLUCOSE LEVELS - Injectable insulin formulations that are capable of modifying the amount of insulin released based on the patient's tissue glucose levels, methods for making and using these formulations are described herein. The formulation may be administered via subcutaneous, intradermal or intramuscular administration. In one preferred embodiment, the formulations are administered via subcutaneous injection. The formulations contain insulin, an oxidizing agent or enzyme and a reducing agent or enzyme, a diluent and optionally one or more thickening agents. If a thickening agent is present in the formulation, the thickening agent increases the viscosity of the formulation following administration. Preferably the formulation contains an insulin, a diluent, glucose oxidase and peroxidase. Following administration to a patient, the insulin is released from the formulations as a function of the patient's tissue glucose level, which in turn maintains the patient's blood glucose level within an optimum range. The formulation is often referred to as a “smart” formulation since it modifies its release rate of insulin according to the patient's needs at a particular time. In a preferred embodiment, the formulation is designed to release insulin into the systemic circulation over time with a basal release profile following injection in a patient. In another embodiment, the formulation is designed to release insulin into the systemic circulation over time with a non-basal release profile following injection in a patient, such as a regular human insulin release profile or a prandial release profile. | 07-09-2009
INSULIN WITH A BASAL RELEASE PROFILE - A clear basal insulin formulation composed of insulin (preferably human recombinant insulin), buffering agents, precipitating agents, and/or stabilizing agents for subcutaneous, intradermal or intramuscular administration. The formulation is designed to form a precipitate of insulin following injection, creating a slow releasing “basal insulin” over a period of 12 to 24 hours, which can be varied by compositional changes to tailor the release profile to the needs of the individual diabetic patient | 03-18-2010
INSULIN WITH A STABLE BASAL RELEASE PROFILE - A basal insulin formulation composed of insulin, preferably insulin glargine, injectable zinc and injectable iron compounds as precipitating and/or stabilizing agents has been developed for subcutaneous, intradermal or intramuscular administration. The formulation is designed to form a precipitate of insulin following injection, creating a slow releasing “basal insulin” over a period of 12 to 24 hours. | 11-17-2011

PIPE PUMP SYSTEM - Disclosed is an embodiment that introduces a novel system to pump fluids, or, gases or, semi-solids, or, solids, from one place to another. Conventionally, a motorized pump systems are used to pump any given fluid from one position to another, nonetheless, in this invention not only a new system of pumping fluids is so introduced, but, existing functions of a conventional motorized pumping systems are saliently augmented by the pipe pump system. The pipe pump functions basically, by a series of electromagnets, that are placed around a flexible and resilient tube, (a rubber tube, for instance), and when these said electromagnet arrangements are actuated, then, that causes the pipe pump to pump out fluids, by squeezing on the fluids, or gases, contained within. | 04-12-2012

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING INTERRUPT PROCESSING IN VIRTUALIZED ENVIRONMENTS - An approach is provided that retrieves a time spent value corresponding to a selected partition that is selected from a group of partitions included in a virtualized environment running on a computer system. The virtualized environment is provided by a Hypervisor. The time spent value corresponds to an amount of time the selected partition has spent processing interrupts. A number of virtual CPUs have been assigned to the selected partition. The time spent value (e.g., a percentage of the time that the selected partition spends processing interrupts) is compared to one or more interrupt threshold values. If the comparison reveals that the time that the partition is spending processing interrupts exceeds a threshold, then the number of virtual CPUs assigned to the selected partition is increased. | 12-03-2009
