20090052636EFFICIENT CONVERSION OF VOICE MESSAGES INTO TEXT - A system and method for efficiently transcribing verbal messages transmitted over the Internet (or other network) into text. The verbal messages are initially checked to ensure that they are in a valid format and include a return network address, and if so, are processed either as whole verbal messages or split into segments. These whole verbal messages and segments are processed by an automated speech recognition (ASR) program, which produces automatically recognized text. The automatically recognized text messages or segments are assigned to selected workbenches for manual editing and transcription, producing edited text. The segments of edited text are reassembled to produce whole edited text messages, undergo post processing to correct minor errors and output as an email, an SMS message, a file, or an input to a program. The automatically recognized text and manual edits thereof are returned as feedback to the ASR program to improve its accuracy.02-26-2009

20090189329FEEDER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME - A media feeder is provided, which includes: a raisable and lowerable hopper on which multiple media are stacked; an elevator moving the hopper to a raised or lowered position; a pick-up roller picking up an upper media stacked on the hopper by rotating while contacting the uppermost media when the hopper is at the raised position; a friction member disposed on the upper surface of the hopper, at a position facing the pick-up roller; and a projecting member disposed below the hopper. The hopper includes a window hole formed in the vicinity of the friction member. When the hopper is at the lowered position, the projecting member projects from the upper surface of the hoper through the window hole. Thus, when media are placed in the feeder, even the lowermost medium does not come into contact with the friction member, thereby facilitating the placement and positional adjustment of the media.07-30-2009
20100052247SHEET SUPPLY APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A sheet supply apparatus is provided with a print medium storage device for storing a print medium. The print medium storage device includes a guide member for guiding the print medium thus stored; an engaging portion for engaging the guide member at a specific position; an engaged portion for engaging the engaging portion; an operation portion disposed to be movable for separating the engaging portion from the engaged portion; and an abutting portion for abutting against the operation portion to move the operation portion when the print medium storage device is situated at a first position, and for separating from the operation portion when the print medium storage device is situated at a second position.03-04-2010
20110064465IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - An image forming apparatus includes an image-forming unit, an intermediate transfer member, a backup member and a medium transfer member. The image-forming unit is configured to form a developed image, which is transferred to the intermediate transfer member. The intermediate transfer member is entrained about the backup member. The medium transfer member is opposed to the backup member and is configured to transfer the developed image on the intermediate transfer member to a medium. The medium transfer member is also at a first position where a rotational axis of the medium transfer member lies downstream of a rotational axis of the backup member in a medium transport direction.03-17-2011
20110081188IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - An image forming apparatus includes a first transportation unit for transporting a medium; a second transportation unit including a first transportation member and a second transportation member disposed on both sides of a transportation path of the medium on a downstream side of the first transportation unit in a transportation direction of the medium for transporting the sheet supplied from the first transportation unit; and a medium guiding portion disposed between the first transportation unit and the second transportation unit for guiding the medium supplied from the first transportation unit toward the second transportation unit. The medium guiding portion includes a guide surface formed to face the transportation path for guiding the medium toward the first transportation member of the second transportation unit.04-07-2011
20120076554IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - An image forming apparatus includes a primary transfer body that bears a developer image, a secondary transfer portion for transferring the developer image from the primary transfer body to a medium, and an introduction portion provided on an upstream side of the secondary transfer portion in a conveying direction of the medium. The introduction portion introduces the primary transfer portion and the medium toward the secondary transfer portion. The introduction portion has a gap having a predetermined distance therebetween.03-29-2012

20120105897PRINTING SYSTEM - A printing system that performs printout based on encrypted, submitted data includes a printing apparatus including a decrypting unit that decrypts the submitted data; and an editing apparatus that accepts an editing operation to be performed on the submitted data. The editing apparatus transmits an execution instruction for performing a process of creating an image for editing used for the editing operation, to the printing apparatus. In response to the execution instruction, the printing apparatus performs a process on an image obtained by decrypting the submitted data using the decrypting unit, and thereby creates a non-equivalent decrypted image as the image for editing, and transmits the non-equivalent decrypted image to the editing apparatus, the non-equivalent decrypted image being a decrypted image non-equivalent to a printed material related to the submitted data. The editing apparatus displays the non-equivalent decrypted image as the image for editing.05-03-2012

20120193821METHOD OF MANUFACTURING LENS - A manufacturing method uses a molding unit to manufacture lenses out of a structure with a plurality of lens intermediates coupled to each other through a runner. The molding unit includes a holding member provided with first opening parts and second opening parts coaxial with each other, and molding chambers. First molding dies and second molding dies are inserted into the first opening parts and the second opening parts respectively. The holding member is further provided with a path that allows introduction of the lens intermediates into the molding chambers. In a manufacturing process, the lens intermediates are guided to predetermined positions in the corresponding molding chambers by operating the structure to cause the lens intermediates and the runner to move along the path. Next, a pressing pressure is applied to the lens intermediates to form molded lenses.08-02-2012
