20080208072 | Biopotential Waveform Data Fusion Analysis and Classification Method - Biopotential waveforms such as ERPs, EEGs, ECGs, or EMGs are classified accurately by dynamically fusing classification information from multiple electrodes, tests, or other data sources. These different data sources or “channels” are ranked at different time instants according to their respective univariate classification accuracies. Channel rankings are determined during training phase in which classification accuracy of each channel at each time-instant is determined. Classifiers are simple univariate classifiers which only require univariate parameter estimation. Using classification information, a rule is formulated to dynamically select different channels at different time-instants during the testing phase. Independent decisions of selected channels at different time instants are fused into a decision fusion vector. The resulting decision fusion vector is optimally classified using a discrete Bayes classifier. Finally, the dynamic decision fusion system provides high classification accuracies, is quite flexible in operation, and overcomes major limitations of classifiers applied currently in biopotential waveform studies and clinical applications. | 08-28-2008 |
20080312551 | Controller for Neuromuscular Testing - A peripheral nervous system (PNS) neuromuscular disorder testing system incorporates a testing apparatus that is affixed to a patients skin, positioning a stimulus transducer (e.g., electrical contact(s), movable sharp point, etc.) into a nerve pathway of interest with an electrode and reference electrodes appropriately positioned relative thereto to measure the electrical signal produced. A wireless connection to a control box relays the data associated with the time of the stimulus and the sensed response to a diagnostic system that analyzes the waveform per selectable testing protocols with user tailorable view capabilities and data dissemination communication paths. | 12-18-2008 |
20100125190 | Electrode System - An electrode system comprises electrode modules, flexible connectors, and sensors. Each electrode module defines a substantially central opening and has circuitry that includes an amplifier. A conductive ring is exposed in the opening of each electrode module. The flexible connectors include flexible circuitry coupled with the circuitry of the electrode modules. Each sensor includes an electrolytic hydrogel portion that is configured to contact a test subject and outwardly extending tabs that are in communication with the hydrogel portion. The tabs are configured to contact the conductive ring of an electrode module with the sensor is inserted in the opening of the electrode module. The system may thus sense evoked response potentials (ERPs) from the test subject through the electrolytic hydrogel portions, amplify those potentials, and communicate the amplified potentials through the circuitry of the flexible connectors. A control box may initiate ERP testing and store the test results. | 05-20-2010 |
