20130325427 | METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR COMPUTING NOTIONAL SOURCE SIGNATURES FROM NEAR-FIELD MEASUREMENTS AND MODELED NOTIONAL SIGNATURES - Methods and systems for computing notional source signatures from modeled notional signatures and measured near-field signatures are described. Modeled near-field signatures are calculated from the modeled notional signatures. Low weights are assigned to parts of a source pressure wavefield spectrum where signatures are less reliable and higher weights are assigned to parts of the source pressure wavefield spectrum where signatures are more reliable. The part of the spectrum where both sets of signatures are reliable can be used for quality control and for comparing the measured near-field signatures to modeled near-field signatures. When there are uncertainties in the input parameters to the modeling, the input parameters can be scaled to minimize the differences between measured and modeled near-field signatures. Resultant near-field signatures are computed by a weighted summation of the modeled and measured near-field signatures, and notional source signatures are calculated from the resultant near-field signatures. | 12-05-2013 |
20140269170 | Method for Optimizing the Design of Multiple-Source Arrays Used in Marine Seismic Surveys - A method and apparatus for determining marine seismic source configurations which produce a minimum error after the process of combining the wave fields to eliminate the responses of sources including the source ghost operated at multiple depths, without separating these wave fields, is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes simulating, on a computer system, the performing of a seismic survey for one or more source configurations. An error term is calculated for each configuration simulated. Based on the calculated error terms, a configuration having the smallest error among those simulated may be determined. | 09-18-2014 |

20120085861 | DEVICE FOR ACOUSTIC TREATMENT OF THE NOISE EMITTED BY A TURBOJET - The invention provides a device for acoustical treatment of the noise emitted by a bypass turbojet comprising a primary cowl having in an outer surface an inner annular acoustic treatment panel and a secondary cowl including in an inner surface an outer annular acoustic treatment panel arranged facing the inner panel. The inner and outer panels include respective central panel portions facing each other and extending axially over a common predetermined length, the length of the central panel portions lying in the range one-fifth to four-fifths of the total length of the panels, and the ratio between the acoustic resistances of the central panel portions being not less than 2. | 04-12-2012 |
20130032663 | DEVICE FOR REDUCING NOISE FROM JET-PYLON INTERACTIONS ON JET ENGINES - An aircraft pylon for mounting a dual-flow or triple-flow jet engine, the pylon including an upper surface for connection to the aircraft, two side flanks, and a flange on the lower portion of the pylon. The pylon further includes at least one portion that extends downstream from the cold flow nozzle of the jet engine and lies in the cold flow and, on the portion thereof extending into the cold flow beyond the nozzle, at least one opening, positioned on one of the flanks of the pylon, by which an air stream is injected into or drawn from the gas flow that flows along the flanks of the pylon. | 02-07-2013 |
20130142624 | MULTI-LAYER ACOUSTIC TREATMENT PANEL - A multilayer acoustic treatment panel including a first cellular-structure core sandwiched between a perforated skin and an intermediate skin; and a second cellular-structure core sandwiched between the intermediate skin and a continuous skin. The perforated skin includes at least one pair of high-porosity zones presenting a perforation ratio greater than a perforation ratio of a remainder of the perforated skin and including an inlet zone and an outlet zone longitudinally spaced apart from each other, the high-porosity zones of a given pair communicating through the first cellular-structure core and the intermediate skin with the two ends of a soundwave flow channel arranged in the second cellular-structure core. | 06-06-2013 |
