20090236104NEGATIVE PRESSURE ACTUATOR - An actuator for use with a negative pressure fire suppression sprinkler system is disclosed. The actuator has three chambers, each chamber having a flexible diaphragm. One chamber is connected to the sprinkler system piping network. Its diaphragm moves in response to an increase in pressure in the piping network signaling a fire. The diaphragm in the second chamber opens an orifice in response to the motion of the first diaphragm. The open orifice allows water to flow from the third chamber to the ambient. The diaphragm in the third chamber moves in response to the water flow from the third chamber. The third chamber is connected to a valve controlling water flow to the piping network. Motion of the diaphragm in the third chamber actuates the valve, releasing water to the system.09-24-2009

20110147016Fluid Selective Check Valve - A valve has a valve body that defines a chamber. The chamber has an inlet and an outlet through which a flow path passes. A seat is positioned within the chamber and surrounds the flow path. A closing member is positioned within the chamber and a biasing member biases the closing member into an open position away from the seat. The biasing member exerts a biasing force on the closing member which exceeds the force exerted on the closing member by a first fluid which enters the inlet and flows past the closing member and through the open valve. The biasing force is less than the force exerted by a second fluid having one or more different characteristics from the first fluid. Force exerted by the second fluid on the closing member overcomes the biasing force and moves the closing member into engagement with the seat, closing the valve.06-23-2011

20100117855AZIMUTHALLY SENSITIVE RESISTIVITY LOGGING TOOL - Various systems and methods for implementing an azimuthally sensitive resistivity logging tool are disclosed. One such method involves transmitting a primary magnetic field from one or more coils placed on a drill collar and receiving several electrical signals, where each of the electrical signals is received from a respective one of several sensors. The sensors are distributed around a circumference of a drill collar, and an axis of at least one of the sensors is perpendicular to an axis of the drill collar. Each of the electrical signals indicates a respective magnitude of a measurement of a reflected magnetic field, where the reflected magnetic field is reflected from an anomalous geological formation. The method calculates a vector measurement of the reflected magnetic field, based upon the electrical signals.05-13-2010

20080282162METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS USING A SENSORY CUE TO INDICATE SUBSEQUENT ACTION CHARACTERISTICS FOR DATA COMMUNICATIONS - A communications device provides a user with a sensory cue that informs the user of certain characteristics of a subsequent action that includes data communications. By informing the user of the data communication characteristics before the user initiates the data communication action, the invention appropriately sets user expectations regarding the data communication characteristics. For example, one embodiment of the invention is implemented in a portable communications device with a screen. For subsequent actions that include wireless communications, the portable communications device simultaneously displays a wireless link icon sensory cue next to a user interface graphic element. The user interface element is used to initiate the subsequent action. The user interface element can be an operating system object having an embedded link type icon. The wireless link icon informs the user that the subsequent action corresponding to the user interface element requires wireless communication and the expense and time associated therewith. A method, a system and an apparatus for indicating characteristics of a subsequent action to a user before the user begins the subsequent action are provided.11-13-2008
20090117880Providing Voice Messages To An Intended Recipient - A voice messaging system associates each stored voice message with a unique combination of a retrieval telephone number and a recipient identifier such as a recipient telephone number. When a voice message is received, the system sends a notification message containing the retrieval telephone number to the intended recipient. Upon receiving the notification message, the intended recipient can access the voice message directly by calling the message retrieval telephone number. The system detects the recipient identifier, for example, via caller identification of the recipient telephone number. Using the unique combination of retrieval telephone number and recipient identifier, the system retrieves and plays the appropriate voice message. In one embodiment, the access point for retrieving messages is different from the access point for leaving voice messages.05-07-2009

20120124687LOLIUM PERENNE SUBSP. STOLONIFERUM; PERENNIAL RYEGRASS WITH DETERMINATE-STOLONS - This disclosure provides perennial ryegrass plants having determinate-stolons developed by subjecting large number of perennial ryegrass plants to intense traffic. This grass can quickly repair (high regeneration potential) itself from traffic damage, and has good turf qualities compared to other perennial ryegrasses. The high regeneration potential gives it the ability to quickly repair itself from traffic damage and fill in open areas in turf. Methods of using the perennial ryegrass grass plants and seed are also provided. This grass is suitable for use in turf, for example turf that is exposed to significant traffic. This disclosure also provides methods of selecting for such grass plants.05-17-2012
