The antenna is configured to energize a radio frequency identification tag without contact for enhancing read range of the radio frequency identification tag.05-06-2010
20100109873ANTENNA SWITCHING SYSTEM AND METHOD - An improved RFID tag reader is provided. More specifically, an RFID tag reader is provided that includes a plurality of antenna panels arranged to form a sensing volume in which RFID tags are read. Additionally, the RFID tag reader includes a novel switching mechanism that activates the antenna panels in sequence while minimizing cross coupling between the antenna panels. Furthermore, a novel antenna geometry also reduces antenna cross coupling.05-06-2010
20100179849SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING BACKHAUL OPPORTUNITIES - A method for identifying backhaul opportunities is provided. The method includes receiving data corresponding to a position, time and status from a plurality of vehicles. The method includes generating a database of trips made by the plurality of vehicles based on the data received, wherein each of the trips is identified with a start point and an end point. The method also includes determining similarity between the trips to cluster the trips, wherein said determining comprises comparing a spatial distance between respective start points and respective end points with a pre-determined distance criteria. The method further includes identifying a frequency of each of the trips clustered made by the plurality of vehicles, wherein each of the trips are actual routes traveled between respective start points and respective end points. The method also includes generating a model for historical vehicle movement based on the identified frequent trips. The method also includes identifying a plurality of backhaul opportunities for a proposed empty trip using the model generated. The method further includes ranking the backhaul opportunities based on a frequency and cargo status of trips intersecting the proposed empty trip.07-15-2010
20100250446FREIGHT COMMERCE SYSTEM AND METHOD - In certain embodiments, a freight commerce system is provided. The freight commerce system includes a server communicatively coupled to a communication network. The freight commerce system also includes one or more data collection devices communicatively coupled to the communication network. The one or more data collection devices are configured to provide location information to the server via the communication network, wherein the location information includes real-time geo-based information, historical geo-based information, or a combination thereof. In addition, the freight commerce system includes one or more electronic devices coupled to the communication network and configured to receive user preference information from a user and provide the preference information to the server. The server is configured to process the user preference information from the one or more electronic devices and the location information from the one or more data collection devices and provide the user with information for potential shipping business partners based on the user preference information and the location information.09-30-2010
20100262366SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISTANCE ESTIMATION - A mileage estimation system comprising a data collection module, a route determination module, a learning module, and a mileage calculation module is provided. The data collection module receives data corresponding to a position and time of a moving asset from a remote location and the route determination module obtains information from a map database for determining a plurality of routes between at least two location of the moving asset. The learning module in the system determines a route travelled by the moving asset from the plurality of routes based on mileage estimation criterion, and the mileage calculation module estimates the distance travelled by the moving asset based on the route travelled by the moving asset.10-14-2010
20110054731SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BI-DIRECTIONAL WIRELESS INFORMATION TRANSFER - A system and method a bi-directional wireless information system includes a plurality of sensor nodes spaced along a path of travel of an object, each of the sensor nodes corresponding to a specified location along the path of travel. The system also includes a transceiver associated with the object, the transceiver configured to communicate with the plurality of sensor nodes, such that a location of the object is determinable based on wireless communication between the transceiver and the plurality of sensor nodes. A central database included in the system is configured to receive the location of the object from at least one of the transceiver and the plurality of sensor nodes, receive object-specific data from at least one of the transceiver and the plurality of sensor nodes, and transmit location-specific data to the transceiver.03-03-2011
20110078024SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVISIONING ADVERTISEMENTS TO A VEHICLE USER - A method for provisioning of advertisement to a user of a vehicle is provided. The method comprises determining information comprising attributes associated with behavior of the user, analyzing the information of the user and communicating at least one advertisement to the user wherein the at least one advertisement is based on the analyzed information.03-31-2011
20110106818METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SOLVING TASKS - A system for determining a solution is presented. The system includes a plurality of nodes operationally associated with one another via a network. The plurality of nodes include a data repository configured to store information and experiences of a corresponding node, a processing subsystem operationally coupled to the data repository, and configured to generate a target query, receive a target query from one or more nodes of the plurality of nodes, or both, select one or more target query relevant nodes from the plurality of nodes based on the target query, extract target query relevant information and target query relevant experiences from a corresponding data repository, exchange the target query relevant information and the target query relevant experiences with the one or more target query relevant nodes; and collectively determine a solution to the target query based upon the exchanged target query relevant information and the target query relevant experiences.05-05-2011
