20080275408LOCALIZED LIQUID THERAPY AND THERMOTHERAPY DEVICE - A device for directly applying thermotherapeutic liquid to an area upon the surface of an afflicted patient, and methods of use thereof, are described. In particular, a device for apply water-based liquid at a therapeutic temperature directly to an afflicted area in order to create a localized hyperthermia, is presented. The afflicted area may be either on the skin of the patient, or subcutaneous. The device is also effective for disinfection, irrigation, lavage, and the like, when employing a suitable solution. The liquid may also have a mild oxidizing effect, which, if greater upon afflicted than upon non-afflicted cells, would enhance the therapeutic effect in conjunction with the therapy herein described.11-06-2008
20090253972SYSTEM FOR COMBINED TRANSCUTANEOUS BLOOD GAS MONITORING AND NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND TREATMENT - A system for administering negative pressure therapy to a wound includes a screen adapted to be positioned at the wound. A reduced pressure source is in fluid communication with the screen, and a blood gas transducer is exposed to a reduced pressure provided by the reduced pressure source. The reduced pressure supplied by the reduced pressure source induces hyperperfusion of a blood gas at the wound.10-08-2009
20100022972REDUCED PRESSURE TREATMENT SYSTEM HAVING A DUAL POROSITY PAD - A wound closure system and method having a porous pad for providing a reduced pressure to a tissue site is disclosed. The porous pad comprises a porous material formed by spraying a chemical substance that cures to form the porous material which has a body and an outer surface. Both the body and the outer surface have pores wherein the average size of the pores in the outer surface is smaller than the average size of the pores in the body. The porous pad further comprises a pathway formed within the porous material that is adapted to fluidly communicate with a source of reduced pressure.01-28-2010
20100145360SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSPLANTATION OF DERMAL TISSUE - A dermal tissue transplantation system combining a tissue particle harvester, a tissue particle collector, and a chambered dressing. The system provides a harvester capable of harvesting tissue from a donor site on the order of about 100 microns. The integrated tissue particle collector provides a means for collecting the harvested tissue for in situ cultivation in a chambered dressing at the wound site.06-10-2010

20080200906Apparatus and method for administering reduced pressure treatment to a tissue site - The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to a system and method for administering reduced pressure at a tissue site. The apparatus includes a reduced pressure source. The reduced pressure source generates a reduced pressure. The apparatus includes a tube having a plurality of lumens. The plurality of lumens includes at least one collection lumen. The reduced pressure source applies the reduced pressure to the tissue site through the plurality of lumens such that the at least one collection lumen receives fluid from the tissue site. The at least one collection lumen stores the fluid received from the tissue site.08-21-2008
20080202527PROVIDING AUTOMATED OR MANUAL GUIDANCE ON DYNAMIC PATIENT POSITIONING BASED ON MEASURED VARIABLES FOR VENTILATION CONTROL - Methods and systems that incorporate automated or manual control of ventilation and kinetic rotation therapy are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, an artificial ventilator is used to artificially ventilate one of the patient's lungs, the status of the artificially ventilated lung is determined by measuring one or more ventilation status measures, and one or more of the ventilation status measures is used to provide feedback for controlling the positioning of the patient. In some exemplary embodiments, the feedback is used for automated control of the positioning of the patient, while in other exemplary embodiments, the feedback is used as guidance for manual control of the positioning of the patient.08-28-2008
20090240216NEGATIVE PRESSURE TREATMENT SYSTEM WITH HEATING AND COOLING PROVISION - A method, and apparatus for the controlled acceleration, and/or retardation of the body's inflammatory response generally comprises a foam pad for insertion substantially into a wound site, a heating, a cooling pad for application over the wound site, a wound drape or sealing enclosure of the foam pad, the heating, and cooling pad at wound site. The foam pad is placed in fluid communication with a vacuum source for promotion of the controlled acceleration or retardation of the body's inflammatory response. The heating, and cooling provision controls the local metabolic function as part of the inflammatory response.09-24-2009
20090270820SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE OF AGENT IN COMBINATION WITH SUBATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE TISSUE TREATMENT - A reduced pressure therapy system includes a foam pad having a plurality of passages to distribute a reduced pressure to a tissue. The foam pad includes exterior surfaces and interior surfaces along the plurality of passages. A silver coating uniformly covers the exterior surfaces of the foam pad and the interior surfaces along the passages. A drape is adapted to be positioned over the foam pad to maintain a sealable space over the wound, and a vacuum source is in fluid communication with the sealable space to deliver the reduced pressure to the sealable space.10-29-2009
20090299340ANISTROPIC DRAPES AND SYSTEMS - An anisotropic wound drape for treating a wound on a patient includes a flexible sheet for placing over a tissue site. The flexible sheet includes a first isotropic zone, and a second isotropic zone. The first isotropic zone and the second isotropic zone are configured to provide the flexible sheet with anisotropic stretching properties. The anisotropic drape may used as part of a reduced-pressure wound treatment system. Other systems and methods are also presented.12-03-2009
20100121311Skin Grafting Devices and Methods - The present invention provides skin grafting and devices that comprise a systematic approach to the process of skin grafting, i.e., harvesting, post-excision processing and application of donor skin and pre and post-graft treatment of the recipient site.05-13-2010
20100249688BIOCOMPATIBLE WOUND DRESSING - A multi-layer reduced pressure delivery apparatus is provided for applying reduced pressure tissue treatment to a tissue site. The multi-layer apparatus includes a tissue contact layer, a release layer, and a manifold layer. The tissue contact layer includes a scaffold adapted to contact the tissue site, the release layer includes a water-soluble polymer and a plurality of flow channels, and the manifold layer includes a distribution manifold.
