Dry Powder Inhalers with Multi-Facet Surface Deagglomeration Chambers and Related Devices and Methods - Dry powder inhalers and methods are provided that facilitate deagglomeration of powdered medicament during inspiration. A dry powder inhaler includes a dry powder medicament container assembly, and an elongated dry powder delivery tube having an inlet at one end that communicates with a dose container, and an outlet or inhalation port that extends from the inhaler housing at an opposite end. The delivery tube includes one or more apertures adjacent the inlet that cause cyclonic or turbulent airflow through the delivery tube. The inner surface of the delivery tube has a polygonal configuration and the cyclonic air stream bounces off the polygonal inner surface numerous times as the air stream flows through the delivery tube. Another dry powder inhaler includes a deagglomeration chamber with a polygonal inner surface. An air stream containing dry powder medicament is directed into the deagglomeration chamber and impacts the polygonal inner surface numerous times. | 07-21-2011

Multi-Functional Apparatus For Aiding Cleaning Of Edged Surfaces And Storage - Apparatus and method for facilitating cleaning a working surface of a countertop or tabletop is mountable on the edge portion thereof. In an embodiment, the apparatus has a first assembly and a second assembly. The first assembly includes an elongated tray and at least one bracket for mounting the second assembly thereon. The first assembly is mounted to the edge portion using clamps. The second assembly includes an elongated gutter and mounting portions attached thereto. The tray slopes downward from its rear edge to its front edge. The gutter is located below and parallel to the front edge of the tray. The first assembly may include a compressible strip attached to the rear edge of the tray, so that the strip is pressed against the underside of the edge portion when the apparatus is mounted. In another embodiment, a frame holding a disposable bag is used instead of the gutter. | 09-29-2011

THERAPY PREDICTION AND OPTIMIZATION FOR RENAL FAILURE BLOOD THERAPY, ESPECIALLY HOME HEMODIALYSIS - A method of predicting serum phosphorus concentrations in a patient during hemodialysis includes measuring serum phosphorus concentrations of the patient over a hemodialysis treatment session time and an ultrafiltration rate calculated by a difference between pre- and post-dialytic body weight of the patient during an initial hemodialysis treatment session divided by a total treatment time of the treatment session and estimating a phosphorous mobilization clearance and a pre-dialysis distribution volume of phosphorus for the patient. Serum phosphorus concentrations of the patient can then be predicted at any time during any hemodialysis treatment session with the estimated phosphorous mobilization clearance and pre-dialysis distribution volume of phosphorus of the patient. | 10-20-2011

Compressor with Improved Lubrication - A compressor for an air conditioning system comprises a piston and a pin. The piston comprises an aperture forming a piston bearing surface and a lubrication port in communication with the aperture. The pin comprises a pin bearing surface and the pin is received within the aperture to form an interface between the pin bearing surface and the piston bearing surface. In another embodiment, a method of lubricating within a compressor comprises rotating a crankshaft within a crankcase, introducing lubricant into the crankcase; and contacting the lubricant with a portion of a pin disposed within a piston via a lubrication port in the piston. In yet another embodiment, a piston for a compressor comprises an aperture forming a piston bearing surface and a lubrication port in communication with the aperture. | 02-25-2010
System and Method For Reducing Compressor Noise - A noise reduced compressor has a body, an energy dissipation element, and a structural element configured to retain the energy dissipation element relative to the body. A noise reducer for an HVAC system compressor has an energy dissipation element and a structural element connected to the energy dissipation element. A method of reducing compressor noise includes disposing an energy dissipation element between a body of the compressor and a structural element and compressing the energy dissipation element against between the body of the compressor using the structural element. | 09-08-2011
