20100054324SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LATENCY REDUCTION IN SPECULATIVE DECISION FEEDBACK EQUALIZERS - A decision feedback equalizer (DFE) and method include summer circuits configured to add a dynamic feedback tap to a received input to provide a sum and to add a speculative static tap to the sum. Sense amplifiers are configured to receive outputs of the summer circuits and evaluate the outputs of the summer circuits in accordance with a clock signal. A passgate multiplexer is configured to receive outputs from sense amplifiers wherein the multiplexer is clock-gated for isolation of subsequent circuitry from the outputs of the sense amplifiers during a precharge period. A gating circuit is configured to perform gating of a select signal output from a second circuit portion with a clock signal and to enable the isolation of the subsequent circuitry by the multiplexer during the precharge period. A regenerative buffer is coupled to the multiplexer to maintain an output of the multiplexer during the precharge period, to provide the select signal for a passgate multiplexer in the second circuit portion of the DFE and to drive the dynamic feedback tap on the first circuit portion of the DFE.03-04-2010

20090257745METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TESTING TRANSMITTERS IN OPTICAL FIBER NETWORKS - An eye mask is provided that is defined at least partially in terms of absolute, or non-relative, optical power level values. In essence, the eye mask of the invention is a hybrid of the traditional eye mask in that the eye mask of the invention includes power level values on the optical power axis that are based on the minimum OMA set forth in the applicable standard or data sheet specification rather than on measured power level values obtained from the part being tested. Using the hybrid eye mask of the invention obviates the need to perform at least some of the tests often used to measure transmitter attributes. In addition, using the hybrid eye mask of the invention reduces the possibility that a transmitter may fail the eye mask test even though the transmitter operates satisfactorily.10-15-2009

20120124766BREAK-AWAY WIPER EXTENSION FOR VEE WINDOWS - A break-away wiper arm assembly which allows a vehicle escape window to be opened rapidly without any delays or undue forces to impede the escape of the vehicle crew. The invention uses a two piece coupling held together using a retaining ring. As the window is pushed open, the window frame pushes against the wiper arm which overcomes the retaining ring retention force allowing the wiper arm to break away, clearing the area in front of the window for free motion of the window and the unimpeded exit of vehicle occupants.05-24-2012
