20090091668STRETCHED FILM FOR STEREOSCOPIC 3D DISPLAY - A stereoscopic 3D display with stretched film. The display includes a liquid crystal display panel, drive electronics configured to drive the liquid crystal display panel with alternating left eye and right eye images, and a light guide and a backlight positioned to provide light to the liquid crystal display. A frame is positioned between the liquid crystal display panel and the light guide, and a 3D film is stretched over the frame.04-09-2009
20090167639METHODS OF REDUCING PERCEIVED IMAGE CROSSTALK IN A MULTIVIEW DISPLAY - Methods of reducing perceived image crosstalk in a multiview display. One method includes providing an image stream to a display having a horizontal dimension that extends from a first side of the display to an opposing second side of the display. The image stream includes a temporal sequence of images where at least a first image view and then a second image view are displayed on the display in a time sequential manner. The temporal sequence of images are conditioned before being displayed in order to reduce perceived displayed image crosstalk between the first and second image views. The conditioning includes modifying a color intensity of at least selected pixels along the horizontal dimension based on a non-constant crosstalk correction function for the horizontal dimension.07-02-2009
20090273925LED ILLUMINATION ASSEMBLY WITH COMPLIANT FOIL CONSTRUCTION - An illumination assembly includes a compliant substrate comprising a first and second electrically conductive foil separated by an electrically insulating layer. The insulating layer includes a polymer material loaded with particles that enhance thermal conductivity of the insulating layer. A plurality of LED dies are disposed on the first conductive foil.11-05-2009
20090273948BACKLIGHT ASYMMETRIC LIGHT INPUT WEDGE - A backlight is disclosed and includes a visible light transmissive body primarily propagating light by TIR with a light input surface and a light output surface and a light guide portion and a light input portion. The light guide portion has a light reflection surface and a light emission surface. The light input portion has opposing side surfaces that are not parallel. One of the opposing surfaces is co-planar with either the light emission surface or the light reflection surface. A light source is disposed adjacent to the light input surface. The light source emits light into the light input portion. A reflective layer is disposed adjacent to or on the opposing side surfaces.11-05-2009
20100128187STEREOSCOPIC 3D LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY WITH GRADED LIGHT GUIDE LIGHT EXTRACTION FEATURES - A backlight for a stereoscopic 3D liquid crystal display apparatus includes a light guide having a light emission surface and an opposing light extraction surface, a first side extends between the light emission surface and the light extraction surface, and a second side extends between the light emission surface and the light extraction surface, the second side opposing the first side. A centerline extends parallel to the first side and second side and is equidistant from the first side and the second side. A center elongated prism extends along the centerline and forms a portion of the light extraction surface. A plurality of elongated prisms extend parallel to the center elongated prism wherein the prisms are progressively more canted for each subsequent elongated prism further from the center elongated prism. A plurality of light sources disposed along the first side and the second side.05-27-2010
