20110182491Shift-Varing Line Projection using graphics hardware - Line segments are classified according to orientation to improve list mode reconstruction of tomography data using graphics processing units (GPUs). The new approach addresses challenges which include compute thread divergence and random memory access by exploiting GPU capabilities such as shared memory and atomic operations. The benefits of the GPU implementation are compared with a reference CPU-based code. When applied to positron emission tomography (PET) image reconstruction, the GPU implementation is 43× faster, and images are virtually identical. In particular, the deviation between the GPU and the CPU implementation is less than 0.08% (RMS) after five iterations of the reconstruction algorithm, which is of negligible consequence in typical clinical applications.07-28-2011

20120079209METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLEMENTING MULTI-PROCESSOR MEMORY COHERENCY - A method and an apparatus for implementing multi-processor memory coherency are disclosed. The method includes: a Level-2 (L2) cache of a first cluster receives a control signal of the first cluster for reading first data; the L2 cache of the first cluster reads the first data in a Level-1 (L1) cache of a second cluster through an Accelerator Coherency Port (ACP) of the L1 cache of the second cluster if the first data is currently maintained by the second cluster, where the L2 cache of the first cluster is connected to the ACP of the L1 cache of the second cluster; and the L2 cache of the first cluster provides the first data read to the first cluster for processing. The technical solution under the present invention implements memory coherency between clusters in the ARM Cortex-A9 architecture.03-29-2012

20100320443ER Doped III-Nitride Materials And Devices Synthesized by MOCVD - This disclosure relates to the synthesis of Er doped GaN epilayers by in-situ doping by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). In an embodiment, both above and below bandgap excitation results in a sharp PL emission peak at 1.54 μm. Contrary with other growth methods, MOCVD grown Er-doped GaN epilayers exhibit virtually no visible emission lines, an present a small thermal quenching effect. The Er incorporation has very little effect on the electrical conductivity of the GaN epilayers and Er doped layers retain similar electrical properties as those of undoped GaN.12-23-2010

20090315901ELECTRONIC PAPER PANEL IMAGE UPDATE METHOD - A updating method of images in electronic paper panel includes: divide the screen and image into (N*N) areas and build indexes for them; compare the present image on the display screen with the next image and compute the different areas; according to the computing result, find the uppermost, undermost, leftmost and rightmost different areas and compute the area of the smallest rectangle which includes the different areas; compare the result with the configured threshold and according to this compared result, set up the updating method to display the image. This method effectively reduces the data of updating images and save the power of the electronic paper, especially the power of the electronic paper panel. It can also improve the response time of the electronic paper panel. At the same time, it is easy to be ported to other advanced embedded operating systems. Thus, it could provide an effective method for the products related to the electronic paper.12-24-2009
20090315923ELECTRONIC PAPER PANEL IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD - A display method of images in electronic paper panel includes: set the resolution for display; add a new event which indicates and drives the new image display; trim the new image to fit in with the resolution; compress the image when it needs to be stored, only reserve the mean values of pixels within each column and each row, as the character of the image; compare the next image with the present image and get the correlation coefficient of the two images; according to the correlation coefficient, set a proper display mode; enhance the image based on human visual character, and then display image. This invention extends the application of electronic paper to intelligent operating system areas, and it is easy to be ported to different advanced intelligent operating systems. It can significantly eliminate the ghosting and flicker on the electronic paper panel, and it also reduces the power consumption of the electronic paper systems and reduces the response time for display. This invention introduces a practical method for further application in various areas of the electronic paper.12-24-2009

20080253644Range pattern matching for hotspots containing vias and incompletely specified range patterns - One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that identifies hotspot areas in a layout. The system receives the layout and a via range pattern which indicates one or more vias and performs range-pattern matching (RPM) on the layout based on a via-free range pattern derived from the via range pattern. The system further identifies at least one candidate area and determines whether via(s) in the candidate area matches the via(s) in the via range pattern. The system can also receives a range pattern with don't care regions. The system determines a core pattern from the range pattern, performs RPM based on the core pattern, and identifies a candidate area. The system then determines whether areas surrounding the candidate area match a non-core effective pattern of the range pattern. The system further determines if the areas surrounding the candidate area satisfy the constraints associated with any vias and the don't care regions.10-16-2008
20090271749PATTERN-CLIP-BASED HOTSPOT DATABASE SYSTEM FOR LAYOUT VERIFICATION - One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that generates a pattern-clip-based hotspot database for performing automatic pattern-clip-based layout verification. During operation, the system receives a list of pattern clips which specify manufacturing hotspots to be avoided in a layout, wherein each pattern clip comprises a set of geometries in proximity to each other. Next, for each pattern clip, the system perturbs the pattern clip to determine a first range of variations for the constituent set of geometries wherein the perturbed pattern clip no longer causes a manufacturing hotspot. The system then extracts a set of correction guidance descriptions from the first range of variations for correcting the pattern clip. Subsequently, the system stores the pattern clip and the set of correction guidance descriptions in the pattern-clip-based hotspot database.10-29-2009
