20080242834Methods of Predicting Hyp-Glycosylation Sites For Proteins Expressed and Secreted in Plant Cells, and Related Methods and Products - Proteins with Hyp-glycosylation are more likely to be secreted in plant cells at high levels than those without. Methods are disclosed for the prediction of Pro-hydroxylation and Hyp-glycosylationsites in proteins. Such methods can be used to identify (1) proteins which, without modification, are predisposed to develop Hyp-glycosylation, if expressed in plant cells, and (2) modifications (especially substitution mutations) which increase the propensity of a protein to develop Hyp-glycosylation, with a view to high level or increased secretion. It is also possible to determine empirically whether a particular protein will undergo Hyp-glycosylation suitable for the desired level of secretion in plant cells. Both modified proteins, and methods for the expression and secretion of predisposed and modified proteins, are claimed.10-02-2008
20100028993METHODS OF PRODUCING PEPTIDES IN PLANTS AND PEPTIDES PRODUCED THEREBY - Methods of increasing the yield in plant expression of recombinant proteins comprising engineering glycosylation sites into cloned genes or cDNAs for proteins using codons that drive post-translational modifications in plants and engineering the cloned genes or cDNAs to contain a plant secretory signal sequence that targets the gene products (protein) for secretion are present. The methods result in increased recombinant glycosylated protein yields. Proteins produced according to these methods are also present.02-04-2010

20090015968Voice coil motor and disk drive unit with the same - A voice coil motor for a disk drive includes a permanent magnet, a voice coil adapted to move in an arc proximate to the permanent magnet, a top plate positioned above the voice coil, and a bottom plate positioned below the voice coil. The permanent magnet has two halves that are magnetized in opposite direction. The two halves of the magnet are split into a right half magnet portion and a left half magnet portion. The right half magnet portion and the left half magnet portion are attached to the top plate and the bottom plate respectively at opposite sides of the voice coil motor. The invention also discloses a disk drive unit with such VCM.01-15-2009
20090046392Voice coil motor and hard disk drive with the same - A voice coil motor for a hard disk drive includes an inner core having an inner surface, an outer plate having an inner surface, a permanent magnet, and a coil of wire. The outer plate is positioned in spaced relation to the inner core such that a gap is defined between the inner surfaces of the inner core and the outer plate. The permanent magnet is located in the gap and attached to the inner surface of the outer plate. The coil of wire wraps around the inner core to form a solenoid coil. With such structure, the stiffness of the coil is increased. The invention also discloses a disk drive with such VCM in which the coil is directly bonded to the E-block of the hard disk drive. Therefore heat conduction of the hard disk drive is improved.02-19-2009

20110313761METHOD FOR ENCODING SIGNAL, AND METHOD FOR DECODING SIGNAL - The present disclosure relates to a method, apparatus, and system for encoding and decoding signals. The encoding method includes: converting a first-domain signal into a second-domain signal; performing Linear Prediction (LP) processing and Long-Term Prediction (LTP) processing for the second-domain signal; obtaining a long-term flag according to decision criteria; obtaining a second-domain contribution signal according to the LP processing result and the LTP processing result when the long-term flag is a first flag; obtaining a second-domain contribution signal according to the LP processing result when the long-term flag is a second flag; converting the second-domain contribution signal into a first-domain contribution signal, and calculating a first-domain predictive residual signal; and outputting a bit stream that includes the first-domain predictive residual signal. With the present disclosure, a subsequent encoding or decoding process is performed adaptively according to the long-term flag; when the long-term flag is the second flag, it is not necessary to consider the LTP processing result, thus improving the compression performance of a codec.12-22-2011
