20090083303NETWORK USAGE COLLECTION SYSTEM - A system includes a first database to associate a sub-interface identifier with customer information, a second database to store a history of customer usage records, and a first device. The first device may receive information from a routing device, where the information includes the sub-interface identifier for a sub-interface of the routing device and information identifying an amount of network traffic received at or transmitted from the sub-interface over a time period, use the sub-interface identifier to obtain the associated customer information from the first database, associate the customer information with the information identifying an amount of network traffic received at or transmitted from the sub-interface over a time period to create a new customer usage record, and store the new customer usage record in the second database.03-26-2009

20090252745Amino acids in the HCV core polypeptide domain 3 and correlation with steatosis - The presently disclosed subject matter provides methods and compositions for predicting a tendency of a subject infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) to develop steatosis. In some embodiments, the disclosed methods include the steps of (a) isolating from the subject a biological sample comprising an HCV Core polypeptide or a nucleic acid molecule encoding an HCV Core polypeptide; and (b) identifying the amino acids in the HCV Core polypeptide or encoded by the nucleic acid molecule in the biological sample corresponding to positions 182/186 of an HCV Core polypeptide amino acid sequence, whereby a tendency to develop steatosis in the subject is predicted when the amino acids corresponding to positions 182/186 of the HCV Core polypeptide amino acid sequence in the biological sample are either phenylalanine/valine or leucine/isoleucine. Also provided are compositions and methods for screening for candidate modulators of lipid accumulation in a subject as well as uses for the candidate modulators.10-08-2009

20110115896HIGH-SPEED AND LARGE-SCALE MICROSCOPE IMAGING - An imaging system generates an image of a specimen by acquiring images of individual portions of the specimen and combining the images to form a composite image. The system moves the specimen to a set of predetermined locations such that all portions of the specimen are captured into images. At each location, images are heuristically acquired at a different distance from an acquisition lens, and the image with the sharpest focus is selected. The selected images are combined to form a composite image by computing and removing overlapping regions of the adjacent images with sub-pixel spatial accuracy. And, the system is capable of imaging thick specimens with high topological variations.05-19-2011

20080249282POLYFLUORENE METHOD - A method of synthesizing a poly(9,9-disubstituted-fluorene) includes reacting a 9,9-disubstituted-fluorene with an alkyl lithium in the presence of a catalytic amount of a nickel amine complex. The 9,9-disubstituted-fluorene includes solubility-enhancing substituents in the 9-position and leaving groups in the 2-position and the 7-position. The product poly(9,9-disubstituted-fluorene)s are fluorescent conjugated polymers that are useful as, for example, blue light-emitting materials.10-09-2008
20090011141ARTICLE WITH PHEMA LIFT-OFF LAYER AND METHOD THEREFOR - A method of forming a patterned functional layer on a substrate using a poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate) lift-off layer is described. The method can be used with substrates that would not tolerate the organic solvents required for processing of known poly(methyl methacrylate) lift-off layers. When used in combination with known nanoimprint lithography and step-and-flash imprint lithography techniques, the method can be used to generate patterned functional structures with dimensions as small as five nanometers.01-08-2009

20080306933DISPLAY OF SEARCH-ENGINE RESULTS AND LIST - Displaying a list of search-engine results in the same web-browser window as a viewing frame that is configured to display one of the results is described herein. A user's web search is performed on a search engine, and results are returned to a client computing device. The results are listed in a web-browser window that is configured to simultaneously display any result selected by a user.12-11-2008
20090282363EFFICIENT NAVIGATION OF SEARCH RESULTS - Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for navigating search results are provided. In response to receiving a search query, at least one individual search result is presented in an overlay window, the overlay window being configured to overlay at least a portion of a document viewing window. Navigation between the overlay window and the document viewing window may be performed in response to receiving input of at least one pre-determined command. Content associated with a selected individual search result (or other document identifier) may be presented in the document viewing window and, substantially simultaneously, the overlay window may be hidden from view. Subsequently, in response to receiving at least one pre-determined command, the overlay window may be re-presented such that it again overlays at least a portion of the document viewing window.11-12-2009
