20080246414INDUCTIVE LOAD SENSOR FOR DIMMER CIRCUIT - A lighting control circuit includes a dimmer circuit which is provided for an electrical outlet. An inductive load detection circuit is provided for identifying the presence of an inductive load in the electrical outlet. When an inductive load is sensed, dimming of the power directed to the electrical outlet is stopped such that full power is delivered to prevent damage to the load. The inductive load detection circuit identifies the presence of an induction load by sensing voltage spikes. In one embodiment, diodes which have a high impedance at lower voltages, but are largely conductive at higher voltages are utilized to achieve this control.10-09-2008
20080284350BULB TYPE DETECTOR FOR DIMMER CIRCUIT AND INVENTIVE RESISTANCE AND SHORT CIRCUIT DETECTION - A bulb detection circuit is associated with a dimmer circuit for a lighting system. The bulb detection circuit is operable to detect whether an incandescent or a fluorescent bulb is received in an electric light socket. The socket may be hardwired to the circuit, or could be plugged into an electrical outlet. The bulb detection circuit may utilize a separately inventive method of measuring the resistance by looking at an RC circuit time constant. Further, the bulb detection circuit may utilize a separately inventive method of identifying a short circuit by again looking at the RC circuit time constant.11-20-2008
20080295895WATER LEAKAGE AND FAULT SENSING SYSTEM - A system is provided for monitoring leakage within a building. Remote sensors are placed at locations that are likely to have leaks occurring. If a leak is detected by one of the remote sensors, a signal is sent to a control for a main shut-off valve. The main shut-off valve is placed on the main water supply line leading into the building. Further, a flow meter is placed on the main water supply line. The flow meter monitors water being delivered into the building, and should an abnormal water flow be detected, the control will close the shut-off valve. The flow meter and control may learn normal water usage patterns for the building, or the patterns may be pre-programmed into the system. A manual override allows the control to be bypassed when it is intended for a large volume of water to be moved into the building, such as when a swimming pool is filled, etc.12-04-2008
20090243509USER INTERFACE FOR WIRELESS LIGHTING CONTROL - A system apparatus for controlling a lighting environment having one or more remote switches that control one or more lighting loads, has an active mode under which the system operates for a user, a linking mode to connect one or more switches to one or more lighting loads, an unlinking mode to disconnect one or more switches from the one or more lighting loads, one or more channels connecting one or more switches to one or more lighting loads, and a scene mode connecting one or more channels and dimming all the lighting loads to a desired dimness level in all connected channels to create a scene.10-01-2009
20100207548LINKING SEQUENCE FOR WIRELESS LIGHTING CONTROL - A method of linking one of a plurality of wireless switches to a transceiver and control for controlling an electric load comprises the steps of moving the transceiver and control into a linking mode, and actuating the at least one of the plurality of switches through an actuation mode that is distinct from a typical actuation of the switch to request a control operation, such as linking, by the at least one of the transceivers and controls. In addition, a control and a lighting system are claimed.08-19-2010
20100253156SENSOR DEVICE POWERED THROUGH RF HARVESTING - An example sensor device for a wireless system includes a receiver, an energy harvester and a transmitter. The receiver receives a signal and the energy harvester converts the signal into useable energy. The transmitter utilizes the useable energy to actuate a load.10-07-2010
20110006893NOTIFICATION SYSTEM UTILIZING SELF-ENERGIZING SWITCHES - An example notification system includes a power supply and a notification device in selective electrical communication with the power supply. The notification device provides a notification to a building service location when the notification device is electrically connected with the power supply. A receiver is electrically connected between the power supply and the notification device. The receiver is operative to selectively electrically connect the notification device with the power supply in response to a wireless communication. A switch includes a wireless transmitter portion powered by a self-energizing portion. The wireless transmitter portion communicates the wireless communication to the receiver in response to an actuation of the switch.01-13-2011
20110012730DOOR NOTIFICATION SYSTEM - In one example, a door notification system includes a wireless batteryless switch associated with a door and a receiver coupled to a lighting load and to a sound-emitting load. The receiver is operable to provide a door notification in response to a signal from the wireless batteryless switch. The door notification includes at least one of a flash of the lighting load or a sound from the sound-emitting load. In one example, a door notification system includes a wireless batteryless switch associated with a door and a portable receiver that is operable to plug into an electrical outlet and that includes a built-in sound-emitting load. The portable receiver is operable to activate the sound-emitting load to produce an audio signal in response to a signal from the wireless batteryless switch.01-20-2011
