20100100398SOCIAL NETWORK INTERFACE - A system and method for providing online insurance quotes to a client on a social network web site includes an insurance server adapted to execute a coverage calculator application and an insurance database in communication with the insurance server for storing a plurality of personas, a plurality of insurance coverage options associated with each persona, and a price quote associated with each insurance coverage option. The system is in communication with a platform application on the social network web site. The platform application is in communication with a social network database for storing user content of the social network client. In one embodiment, the platform application uses an inference engine to query the user content of the social network client and return a set of inferred characteristics. The coverage calculator application selects a persona in response to the set of inferred characteristics and selects one of the insurance coverage options in response to the selected persona.04-22-2010

20080201358Data Processing For Objects With Unknown Data Structures - Data processing for objects with unknown data structures, including receiving a processing request for a business object having an unknown business object data structure, where data for the business object is stored in a persistent data store having an unknown persistent data structure, and the processing request includes a reference to the business object and a processing instruction. Embodiments typically also include: inferring the business object data structure from metadata describing the business object; inferring the persistent data structure from metadata describing the persistent data structure; validating the business object data structure with respect to the persistent data structure; creating a data object structured according to the persistent data structure; transforming data values from the business object to the data object; and applying the processing instruction, with the data object, to the persistent data store.08-21-2008

20100187184METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ENERGY EXCHANGE - Methods and systems for energy recovery in desalination or other systems are provided to transfer the pressure energy from one fluid to anther fluid. A system for energy recovery with a container comprises two sections separated by one or plurality of flexible impermeable diaphragms and pressures of the two fluids in the two sections are transmitted during the cyclical filling and pumping operations, as well as flow control valves. As one embodiment, two flexible impermeable tubes operable to receive two fluids of different pressures respectively connect to flow control valves. The first fluid and the second fluid are separated by the flexible impermeable diaphragm formed by the flexible tubes. Cyclical inflows of the two fluids transmit the higher pressure of one fluid to the other through the diaphragm and transfer the energy from one fluid to the other.07-29-2010

20090112509SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING INSTALLATION DIMENSIONS FOR FLOW MEASUREMENT SYSTEM - A method includes measuring a radius of curvature at each of the plurality of positions of the outer peripheral surface of the predetermined section of the pipe is measured through the first device. A second device is detachably coupled to the plurality of positions along the outer peripheral surface of the predetermined section of the pipe. A wall thickness at each of the plurality of positions of the outer peripheral surface of the predetermined section of the pipe is measured through the second device. A cross-sectional area of the predetermined section of the pipe is measured based on a measurement data including the radius of curvature and wall thickness at each of the plurality of positions of the outer peripheral surface of the predetermined section of the pipe.04-30-2009
