20100211330Packing Properties of Particulate Compositions - A method and system for determining a packing property of a particulate composition. The method includes: obtaining size information relating to the particulate material; determining neighbor information from the size information; determining contact information from the size information; and determining a packing property from the neighbor information and the contact information, thereby enabling determination of the characteristic properties of the particulate composition. The method can be executed by use of a computer system to execute computer software instructions applied to data obtained on the particulate composition to determine a variety of properties of the particulate composition.08-19-2010

20080306074Compositions Comprising Addl Receptors, Related Compositions, and Related Methods - Disclosed and claimed herein are compositions comprising ADDL receptors, related compositions, and related methods. ADDL receptors are typically, but perhaps not exclusively, localized at the post-synaptic density (PSD) of neuronal cells. Related compositions include, but are not limited to, compounds that affect, positively or negatively, ADDL binding to neuronal cells, either via one or more receptors localized at the post-synaptic density (PSD) or otherwise. Related methods include, but are not limited to, procedures to screen for compounds that affect, either positively or negatively, ADDL binding to neuronal cells, either via one or more receptors localized at the post-synaptic density (PSD) or otherwise. Other related methods include, but are not limited to, prevention and treatment of ADDL-related diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, Down's syndrome, and the like, using compositions that inhibit, block, or otherwise interfere with ADDL binding to one or more receptors localized at the post-synaptic density of neuronal cells.12-11-2008
20100303897NOVEL ADDL RECEPTOR POLYPEPTIDES, POLYNUCLEOTIDES AND HOST CELLS FOR RECOMBINANT PRODUCTION - This invention provides a novel receptor expressed on neuronal cells in a developmentally-specific manner. Accordingly, this invention provides the amino acid sequences of selected portions of the receptor and polynucleotides encoding these portions as well as antibodies that bind to the polypeptide portions of the receptor. Compositions and methods for using the compositions are also provided.12-02-2010

20110020503AGGLOMERATES AND PREPARATION THEREOF - Agglomerates of cereals are held together by a binding matrix, rather than sugars, and are formed by providing a dry mix of cereals in particular form, such as flakes, and starch-based matrix—forming material, optionally along with other components. These are then mixed with water to hydrate the binding matrix and allow it to swell to form a paste and to bind the bulk materials together. The resulting blend is extruded to an outlet using a relatively open or no die so that any back pressure and heat generated is sufficient to permit the matrix material to set and bind the particular cereal without excess heat. The agglomerate extruded from the extruder are cut into pieces of the desired size and dried to final desired moisture content.01-27-2011
