Methods for Determining Widths Of Media Sheets Within An Image Forming Apparatus - The present application is directed to methods of determining a width of a media sheet moving along a media path of an image forming apparatus. The methods may include moving the media sheet along the media path and past a media width sensor that includes a shaft with a first upstream paddle positioned away from a reference location of the media path and a second downstream paddle positioned in closer proximity to the reference location. The first paddle is positioned a first distance from the first sensor, and the second paddle is positioned a second distance from the first sensor. As the media sheet moves along the media path, a first signal may be received when the media sheet contacts the first sensor, and a second signal when the media sheet is at the media width sensor. The distance the media sheet travels between contacting the first sensor and being at the second sensor may be determined. The method may also determine whether the media sheet contacted the first or second paddle based on the media sheet travel distance. Based on which paddle was contacted, it may then be determined whether the media sheet is wide or intermediate. The method may also include determining the media sheet is narrow if there is no receipt of two signals. | 03-12-2009
Media Width Sensors And Methods Of Use - The present application is directed to sensors and methods of use to determine a width of a media sheet moving along a media path. In one embodiment, the sensor includes a shaft that extends at least partially across the media path. First and second paddles may extend outward from the shaft and into the media path. The paddles may be axially spaced apart along a length of the shaft, and the first paddle may be positioned upstream along the media path from the second paddle. A flag may extend outward from the shaft. A detector may be positioned in proximity to the shaft. In use, the shaft may rotate during contact between the media sheets and the paddles to move the flag. The detector may be able to differentiate between a first amount of rotation due to contact with a wide media sheet and a second amount of rotation with a narrow media sheet to determine a width of the media sheets. | 03-12-2009
Fuser Assembly Having Selectable Fuser Detack Mechanism - A fuser assembly includes a fuser housing, a fuser roller rotatably mounted to the fuser housing, an actuator mechanism, and a fuser detack mechanism. The fuser detack mechanism includes a detack housing pivotably mounted to the fuser housing. The fuser detack mechanism is pivoted from a first position to a second position when the actuator mechanism is actuated. A plurality of detack fingers is mounted to the detack housing. Each of the plurality of detack fingers has a distal end, wherein when the fuser detack mechanism is in the first position, the distal end of each of the plurality of detack fingers is positioned to be disengaged from an exterior surface of the fuser roller, and when the fuser detack mechanism is in the second position, the distal end of each of the plurality of detack fingers is positioned to be engaged with the exterior surface of the fuser roller. | 03-26-2009

Shoe Releasing Assembly For an Orthosis - A shoe releasing assembly for use with an orthotic bar or splint is disclosed. The shoe releasing assembly comprises a bar attachment member securable to a bar or splint, a shoe attachment member securable to the sole of a shoe, and latching means to secure the bar and shoe members. The bar attachment member comprises a base, wall section at least partially surrounding the base. The shoe attachment member comprises a shoe attachment base, a shoe attachment wall section at least partially surrounding the shoe attachment base. The attachment members comprise a wall section defining a recess and the corresponding members comprise a wall section having a shape conforming to the recess for vertically inclined insertion into the recess. Latching means are provided for receiving, releasably securing the shoe attachment member to the bar attachment member, and disengaging of the shoe attachment member from the bar attachment member. | 09-04-2008
CATHETER MOVEMENT SYSTEM - The present application relates to a urinary catheter movement system for use with a urinary catheter located within an interior volume of a urinary catheter pouch. The system can include a catheter movement controller configured to selectively control longitudinal movement of the catheter relative to a port in the pouch. The system further can include a gripper assembly configured for gripping the catheter located within the interior volume of the urinary catheter pouch. | 02-12-2009
CATHETER MOVEMENT CONTROL DEVICE - The present invention relates to a device for controlling movement of a catheter that is at least partially disposed therein a urinary catheter pouch. More particularly, the device relates to a catheter movement control device for use with a urinary catheter pouch which allows a user to selectively remove at least a portion of the catheter from the pouch, and prevents the catheter from moving back into the pouch once the catheter has been deployed unless and until the user desires to move the catheter back into the catheter pouch. | 05-28-2009
