20080254877Player verification system - A method and system for verifying the continued presence of the same player at a gaming machine is provided. The system comprises a device for continuously obtaining verification data samples, wherein each verification data sample relates to one or more physical features of a first player. A subsequently obtained verification data sample is analyzed to determine whether it is substantially similar to a previously obtained verification data sample. If the subsequent verification data sample is substantially similar to the previously obtained verification data sample, then the system determines that the first player continues to be the same player present at the gaming machine.10-16-2008
20080318685Controlled access layer system and method - A controlled access device produces a controlled access layer in a packet switching environment. The device includes a game monitoring system, a plurality of Ethernet ports, an internal switch, and an encoding mechanism. The game monitoring system monitors and manages game accounting data. The plurality of Ethernet ports facilitate data ingress and egress, and are connectable to a distribution switch. The internal switch forwards transmitted data packets from one or more ingress ports to an egress port. The encoding mechanism encodes a first type of data packets with a QoS high packet delivery priority, and encodes a second type of data packets with a QoS lower packet delivery priority. 12-25-2008
20090005176GAMING DEVICE HAVING TWO CARD READERS - A gaming device includes a housing and a game display carried by the housing for displaying one or more games. The gaming device further includes two card readers carried by the housing: a first card reader to read information indicative of a player identity from a player club card issued by a casino, and a second card reader to read information indicative of a financial account from a financial card issued by a financial institution.01-01-2009
20090082099User Interface System and System-Controlled Bonus System - Systems and methods for managing a limited-time bonus period are disclosed herein. According to one method, one or more triggering events are established for the gaming machines, wherein the triggering events are winning game outcomes. A gaming period is initiated on the gaming machines, wherein each gaming machine generates a game outcome. If necessary, a system host is notified that one or more triggering events have been satisfied. The gaming machines then receive instructions from the system host to initiate a limited-time bonus period, wherein the limited-time bonus period is presented on a player tracking and interactive system gaming devices on a selected number of gaming machines. A notification message is displayed on the gaming machines regarding the initiation of the first limited-time bonus period, and a prize is awarded if a winning outcome is achieved by one or more of the networked gaming machines during the first limited-time bonus period.03-26-2009
20100234101ALTERABLE STORAGE MEDIA GAMING MACHINE - A system for verifying one or more downloaded components 09-16-2010
20110021270DEVICE VERIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD - A method is disclosed for authenticating a gaming device, wherein the gaming device includes a plurality of components, one of which is a storage device. The method includes: starting up the gaming device; authenticating a data file stored on the storage device, wherein the authenticating comprises: opening and reading a file allocation structure in a storage device using a file allocation reader; processing the file allocation structure using a processor to provide access to files stored in the storage device, wherein the files in the storage device include installed identification data from one or more selected gaming units as to components actually installed on the selected gaming units, and wherein the files also include registered identification data for components supposed to be installed on the selected gaming units, each component including hardware components and software components, and each gaming unit including multiple components with identification data; and examining the installed identification data and registered identification data to determine enablement of the gaming units.01-27-2011
20110123024ROLLBACK ATTACK PREVENTION SYSTEM AND METHOD - A rollback attack prevention system 05-26-2011
20110230260Universal Game Monitoring Unit and System - An embedded user interface incorporated into a gaming device, the gaming device including a gaming presentation of a base game and a gaming processor for controlling the base game. The embedded user interface includes: a player tracking interface and an embedded processor. The player tracking interface includes (or is associated with) a display screen and enables display of a system game to a user, presentation of information to the user, and reception of information from the user. The embedded processor employs an internal operating system and communicates with the gaming processor, enables control of the system game, control of player tracking information, and control of non-gaming information. In one embodiment, the embedded user interface enables control of a system game of which at least a portion of the system game is presented physically external to the embedded user interface. In another embodiment, the embedded user interface enables control of a system gaming indicator that is physically external to the embedded user interface. In still another embodiment, communication between a game processor and an embedded user interface is only enabled through the gaming network and is not direct enabled via a direct connection.09-22-2011
