Stroller with braking device - A stroller with a braking mechanism that automatically configures itself in a braking position provides protection against the unattended stroller from rolling away. By applying force to a handle, the braking mechanism is released and the stroller is able to be pushed as usual. The handle and braking mechanism are biased in the braking position by a spring located near the rear wheels. The braking mechanism applies sufficient frictional force against the tire of the wheel to prevent the wheel from rolling. | 11-26-2009

DUAL FUNCTION SEED METER - A seed meter comprises a plastic casing defining a volumetric compartment and a singling compartment. The casing has three basic parts including the singling side, the volumetric side and the center portion. The basic parts are held together by integrally molded fastening assemblies. A slidable gate is mounted to two channels in the center portion for selectively directing seed into one of the two compartments. A metering drum having a volumetric section located in the volumetric compartment and a singling section located in the singling compartment is rotationally mounted to the casing. The metering drum is also plastic with each section comprising two identical pieces that can be mounted around a drive shaft. | 02-26-2009

Metallized Flexible Laminate Material for Lighter-Than-Air Vehicles - A laminate material for lighter-than-air vehicles includes at least one monofilament yarn layer, a polymeric film layer adjacent to the at least one monofilament layer, and a metallized coating adjacent to said polymeric film layer. A clear film cover layer may be adhered to the metallized coating, and one or more fluorescent dyes may be incorporated into the clear film layer. | 02-12-2009
CONDUCTIVE SEAM COVER TAPE - The present invention is generally directed to tapes designed for use in conjunction with lighter-than-air vehicles, platforms or other inflated structures. In one embodiment, the present invention is directed to conductive seam cover tape that can be, for example, used to protect and/or cover one or more seams in a lighter-than-air vehicle, platform or other inflated structure. In another embodiment, the present invention is directed to a conductive seam cover tape that can be, for example, used to protect and/or cover fabric panels or sections that are used to form lighter-than-air vehicles, platforms or other inflated structures that are in, one instance, designed for deployment at high altitudes. | 09-03-2009
HYDROLYSIS-RESISTANT POLY (p-PHENYLENEBENZOBISOXAZOLE) (PBO) FIBERS - Rigid-rod polymer fiber filaments, such as poly (p-phenylenebenzobisoxazole) (PBO), having improved retention of physical properties are prepared by preparing a polymer solution and extruding that solution to form a filament, and then treating that filament with water, base solution, and water. The treated filament may be further heat-treated, or further treated with water. The treated filaments are less susceptible to the degradation caused by heat, humidity, and UV radiation. | 09-09-2010

METHOD FOR NONLINEAR IMAGING OF ULTRASOUND CONTRAST AGENTS AT HIGH FREQUENCIES - This invention employs multiple ultrasound pulse firings of either alternating phase and/or amplitude to detect nonlinear fundamental and subharmonic signals from microbubble contrast agents within living tissue, at high frequencies (≧15 MHz), e.g., with a linear array transducer. It can be shown that the contrast-to-tissue ratio (CTR) decreases with increasing ultrasound frequency because of nonlinear ultrasound propagation in tissue. However, using the subharmonic signal in addition to the nonlinear fundamental harmonic component, rather than the conventional second harmonic used at lower frequencies, provides appreciable signal strength to overcome the limitations of nonlinear tissue propagation. Additionally, the method provides for the ability to switch, at some desired frequency above 20 MHz, into a purely alternating phase inversion acquisition, in combination with bandpass filtering of the subharmonic frequency band, minimizing the losses in CTR as the frequency increases. This maintains contrast sensitivity for more limited fields of view, as penetration depth will be limited at higher frequencies. Thus, within the same micro-ultrasound imaging system, many applications of microbubble detection can be achieved with a wide range of frequencies that covers both resolution and sensitivity requirements. | 11-25-2010
HIGH FREQUENCY, HIGH FRAME-RATE ULTRASOUND IMAGING SYSTEM - A system for producing an ultrasound image comprises a scan head having a transducer capable of generating ultrasound energy at a frequency of at least 20 megahertz (MHz), and a processor for receiving ultrasound energy and for generating an ultrasound image at a frame rate of at least 15 frames per second (fps). | 01-27-2011
SYSTEM FOR PHOTOACOUSTIC IMAGING AND RELATED METHODS - Photoacoustic imaging systems and methods that allow for the creation of three-dimensional (3D) images of a subject are described herein. The systems include one or more optical fibers attached to an ultrasound transducer. Ultrasonic waves are generated by laser light emitted from the optical fiber(s) and detected by the ultrasound transducer. 3D images are acquired by ultrasound signals from a series of adjacent scan planes or frames that are then stacked together to create 3D volume data. | 03-03-2011
METHOD FOR SYNCHRONIZATION OF BREATHING SIGNAL WITH THE CAPTURE OF ULTRASOUND DATA - A method for producing an ultrasound image comprises monitoring the subject's respiration cycle or waveform, acquiring ultrasound data from the subject, producing an ultrasound image from the received ultrasound data received during the time when the subject's motion due to breathing had substantially stopped. | 03-03-2011
