20120022326INTUBATING STYLETS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTUBATION - An intubating stylet has a proximal end and a distal end. The intubating stylet includes a housing at the proximal end of the stylet and a tip portion at the distal end of the stylet. The tip portion has a distal gear at its proximal end. An outer shaft extends from the housing to the tip portion and contains an inner shaft defining a hollow lumen. A distal end of the inner shaft includes a proximal gear coupled with the distal gear of the tip portion such that rotation of the inner shaft causes articulation of the tip portion. The stylet further includes a drive member in the housing and a control member coupled with the drive member. The drive member is coupled to the inner shaft and configured to rotate the inner shaft, and the control member is configured to receive a user input and to translate the input into operation of the drive member.01-26-2012

20090076911MOBILE COUPONS UTILIZING PEER TO PEER RANGING - Providing for distribution of a dynamic mobile coupon (DMC) based on verified peer-to-peer (P-P) ranging between two wireless devices is described herein. By way of example, a first device can form a wireless link with a mobile device and initiate P-P ranging. By analyzing signals sent over the wireless link, a distance between such devices can be determined. In addition, at least a minimum distance between such devices can be verified based on actions performed by the mobile device that require a minimum completion time. Based in part on this verified distance, a DMC can be issued to the mobile device. Accordingly, the subject disclosure provides for increased security for issuing the DMC and mitigation of device spoofing, by verifying a minimum distance to the mobile devices and conditioning issuance of the DMC on such verified distance.03-19-2009
20090215477INTELLIGENT MULTIPLE DEVICE FILE SHARING IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM - Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate communication between a plurality of devices identified by mobile infospheres. The devices can be associated with a mobile infosphere based on ownership, for example, where the mobile infospheres are identified by a mobile phone number. A registry server can store information regarding devices in each mobile infosphere, and communication between the devices within a mobile infosphere or devices in other mobile infospheres can be facilitated by providing stored access parameters. In addition, data transferred among the devices can be transcoded to meet capabilities of disparate devices with respect to memory, bandwidth, available codes, etc. Moreover, a file system can aggregate shared files and folders from a plurality of mobile infosphere devices to provide seamless access to available accessible content.08-27-2009
20110166468SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING AND PRESENTING ARRHYTHMIA INFORMATION TO FACILITATE HEART ARRHYTHMIA IDENTIFICATION AND TREATMENT - A system and method for presenting information relating to heart data can involve operations including identifying arrhythmia events in physiological data obtained for a living being, receiving human assessments of at least a portion of the arrhythmia events, determining a measure of correlation between the human assessments and the identified events, and selectively presenting information regarding the identified events based on the measure of correlation. The operations can also include identifying atrial fibrillation events in physiological data obtained for a living being, obtaining heart rate data for the living being, and presenting information regarding the heart rate data and duration of the atrial fibrillation events together with a common time scale to pictographically represent heart rate trend with atrial fibrillation burden during a defined time period.07-07-2011
20110212736ASYNCHRONOUS MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS USING PRIORITY TAGS - Asynchronous media communications consist of sending text or voice messages with tags indicating the priority of the message. AMC combines voice messaging with features such as tagging and threading of voice strings on a recipient device. Communication can take place on a one-to-one or one-to-many basis.09-01-2011

20120095830METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REAL-TIME AGGREGATION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE INFORMATION FOR REAL-TIME AUCTIONING OF ANCILLARY SERVICES, AND REAL-TIME LOWEST COST MATCHING ELECTRIC VEHICLE ENERGY DEMAND TO CHARGING SERVICES - Ancillary service capability data is received in real time from participating electrical vehicles (EVs) connected through EV charging equipment to a power grid. Aggregate offers based on the ancillary service capability data from participating EVs are generated and matched with requests received from electrical power generating entities for ancillary service electrical power. Associated with the matches, ancillary power is transferred from batteries of one or more EV batteries to the power grid and, based on received transaction parameters, transaction payment is made.04-19-2012

20110018731METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMMUNICATING CONTROL INFORMATION BY A WEARABLE DEVICE TO CONTROL MOBILE AND CONSUMER ELECTRONIC DEVICES - A method for communicating control information by a wearable device is disclosed. The method includes determining a first movement according to a first degree of freedom as being gesture-related and a second movement according to a second degree of freedom as being gesture-related; generating a first set of possibly performed gestures based on the first movement; generating a second set of possibly performed gestures based on the second movement; inferring, from the first and second sets, whether the first movement is representative of an intended command; and transmitting information based on the inference. An apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed.01-27-2011
20110018794METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING MOBILE AND CONSUMER ELECTRONIC DEVICES - Various methods for controlling a device is disclosed including dynamically selecting a set of mappings defining how a gesture made by a movement of at least one wearable item will be interpreted as one or more commands; determining whether the gesture has a mapping in the set of mappings; and translating the gesture into a command for the device based on the determination. Interpreting movements of a wearable item as gestures associated with a command to control a controlled device is also disclosed that includes sensing a movement of the wearable item in context as being indicative of a gesture relating to the command based on the first context. A method for communicating control information by a wearable device is further disclosed including determining an agreed upon set of control gestures between first and second devices, wherein the control gestures are performable using the first device and are supportable by the second device; and participating in a control sequence to control the second device via a wireless transmission corresponding to at least one of the control gestures to be performed using the first device.01-27-2011
20110022196METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISTRIBUTED USER INTERFACES USING WEARABLE DEVICES TO CONTROL MOBILE AND CONSUMER ELECTRONIC DEVICES - A method for controlling a controlled device with a device wearable on a portion of a body is disclosed. The method includes detecting relative movement between the wearable device and the portion of the body; and generating an indication of the relative movement for use in controlling the controlled device. A method for controlling a controlled device with a device wearable on a portion of a body is also disclosed. The method includes receiving a message indicating a relative movement between the wearable device and the portion of the body; and generating an action to control the controlled device based on a command associated with the relative movement. Apparatuses for performing the methods are disclosed herein as well.01-27-2011
