20090110556Process of making a shrouded impeller - A method of fabricating a shrouded impeller is disclosed. The method includes providing an open faced impeller, the open faced impeller including a plurality of blades extending at least partially radially from a hub. The method also includes performing a first powder metallurgical process to form a first material over at least part of the open faced impeller. The method further includes forming a shroud circumferentially disposed about the hub and connected to one of more of the blades. Forming the shroud includes performing a second powder metallurgical process to metallurgically bond the shroud to at least some of the blades.04-30-2009
20090160092Precision casting process - A mold assembly for sand casting is disclosed. The mold assembly includes a drag having a first vertical axis and a first surface. The first surface extends generally perpendicular to the first vertical axis. The mold assembly also includes a cope having a second vertical axis positioned on the first surface such that the first vertical axis and the second vertical axis coincide to form a central vertical axis. The cope includes a second surface and a third surface both extending generally perpendicular to the second vertical axis. The mold assembly also includes a casting cavity disposed about the central vertical axis and located between the first surface and the second surface, and a core disposed about the central vertical axis and positioned in the casting cavity. The mold cavity further includes a pouring cup disposed about the second vertical axis and extending downward from the third surface to the casting cavity. The pouring cup is configured to deliver a substantial portion of liquid material at a time directly into the casting cavity without directing the liquid material through a choke point.06-25-2009
20100327140Method for Use of Easy Set-Up Pole and Support System - A method for installing a means capable of removably securing a pole, comprising installing a first support, installing a second support, inserting said pole into said first support, and thereafter, inserting said pole into said second support.12-30-2010

20110076718IN VIVO INCORPORATION OF AN UNNATURAL AMINO ACID COMPRISING A 1,2-AMINOTHIOL GROUP - The invention relates to orthogonal pairs of tRNAs and aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases that can incorporate unnatural amino acids that comprise a 1,2 aminothiol group into polypeptides. The invention provides translation systems in which polypeptides comprising unnatural amino acids that comprise a 1,2 aminothiol group can be produced. The invention also provides methods for producing polypeptides containing unnatural amino acids that comprise a 1,2 aminothiol group. Also provided by the invention are compositions comprising orthogonal aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases that preferentially aminoacylate a cognate orthogonal tRNA with unnatural amino acids that comprise a 1,2 aminothiol group. The invention provides methods for the synthesis of the unnatural amino acid 2-amino-3-(4-(2-amino-3-mercaptopropan-amido)phenyl)-propanoic acid.03-31-2011

20090051215METHOD FOR OPERATING A BRAKE SYSTEM FOR MOTOR VEHICLES - The invention relates to a method for operating a braking system for motor vehicles with electrically actuated hydraulic valves, the coils of which are powered up, at least in phases, with currents which modify the currentless state of the hydraulic valves, in order to heat the hydraulic fluid present in the system. The hydraulic fluid is heated via a heating profile which, in accordance with the hydraulic fluid temperature, activates the heating phase of the hydraulic fluid. The heating profile consists of a first heating phase and, subsequent thereto, a second heating phase. During the first heating phase, the coils are powered up in such a way that the coil temperature at the end of the first heating phase corresponds to a pre-defined temperature value of the coil which is at least approximately maintained during the second heating phase when powering up the coils.02-26-2009
