20100080653Pavement Seal, Installation Machine And Method Of Installation - The present invention provides a compressible seal for installation in joints in concrete pavement, the machine for installing the seal and the method of installation. The seal is a preformed, closed cell, elastomeric cylinder or rope. The seal defines a round cross section in its relaxed, i.e., uncompressed, state somewhat larger than the joint into which it will be installed. The installation machine is a wheeled, hand powered device having a first guide wheel which is received within the joint, an aligned installation wheel which installs the seal in the joint, a second guide wheel which ensures that the seal is at the proper depth in the joint and a pair of contra-circulating belts which feed the seal to the installation wheel.04-01-2010

20090113324Method and system of generating audit procedures and forms - The present invention provides a computer-implemented method for assessing risks associated with an audit. A user is presented with a plurality of audit items and a set of risk levels associated with the audit items and may also be presented with a plurality of prompts designed to elicit a set of responses from the user. The set of user responses being associated with a set of risks associated with the audit. The set of risk levels being associated with a set of assertions associated with the audit items and may include first and second risk levels of different degrees. The method further includes processing a set of responses received from the user in response to the items presented. The method includes automatically generating a suggested audit approach that is based at least in part on the processed responses. The method may also determine a set of procedures that are based on the responses. The set of procedures are presented to the user based on the suggested audit approach. The user is presented for selection with a set of audit approaches comprising the suggested audit approach and an alternative audit approach.04-30-2009

20080289334SOLAR COLLECTION AND CONVERSION SYSTEM AND METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROL THEREOF - Systems and methods for collecting solar energy and converting it to heat, mechanical work, or electricity on a small scale and utilizing one or more system components originally adapted for use in a non-solar-power-generation application are described. Solar energy is used to heat a fluid that is part of a solar energy collector. This fluid transfers heat to the working fluid of thermodynamic engine, which converts some of the heat into mechanical work or electricity. One or more system parameters are monitored and controlled to enable improved efficiency under variable environmental conditions.11-27-2008

20100201092TAG AXLE ATTACHMENT FOR AN OFF ROAD AGRICULTURAL APPLICATOR VEHICLE - The present invention provides a tag axle attachment for an off-road agricultural vehicle. The tag axle attachment allows agricultural vehicles to meet roadway weight restrictions imposed by the federal and state governments while also allowing the vehicle to perform optimally in the field. The tag axle is assembled such that it can be hydraulically lowered into a deployed position when the agricultural vehicle is on the roadway and hydraulically raised into a stowed position when the agricultural vehicle is in the field. The tag axle assembly is mounted to the chassis rails of an agricultural vehicle and positioned to fit between the chassis rails when stowed and minimizes the load per axle of the vehicle when deployed.08-12-2010

20100330164METHOD OF INCREASING TEAR PRODUCTION WITH PURINERGIC RECEPTOR AGONISTS - A method and preparation for the stimulation of tear secretion in a subject in need of such treatment is disclosed. The method comprises administering to the ocular surfaces of the subject a purinergic receptor agonist such as uridine 5′-triphosphate (UTP), dinucleotides, cytidine 5′-triphosphate (CTP), adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP), or their therapeutically useful analogs and derivatives, in an amount effective to stimulate tear fluid secretion and enhance drainage of the lacrimal system. Pharmaceutical formulations and methods of making the same are also disclosed. Methods of administering the same would include: topical administration via a liquid, gel, cream, or as part of a contact lens or selective release membrane; or systemic administration via nasal drops or spray, inhalation by nebulizer or other device, oral form (liquid or pill), injectable, intra-operative instillation or suppository form.12-30-2010

20080236601MANUFACTURING SHAPE MEMORY POLYMERS BASED ON DEFORMABILITY PEAK OF POLYMER NETWORK - Methods and systems have been developed allowing for increased strain storage in shape memory polymer devices. Larger stored strains allow for smaller and different implantable shapes of shape memory polymer devices. For example, by storing a larger strain, a shape memory polymer device may be implanted at a smaller fraction of its final implanted shape. Benefits include shorter patient recovery times, smaller implantation sites, and flexibility of implantation techniques.10-02-2008
20090121391METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PACKAGING OF MEDICAL DEVICES INCLUDING SHAPE MEMORY POLYMERS - Methods and systems are described which allow medical devices containing shape memory polymers to be stored and/or transported without temperature control. Temperature control can be used to inhibit activation of shape memory polymers. Embodiments of methods described herein include activating shape memory polymers while within packaging which inhibits shape change due to activation. Packaging systems are also described herein.05-14-2009

20080221860Hardware interface board for connecting an emulator to a network - A system and method are disclosed to provide an interface between an emulator and a network that is readily scalable. In one aspect, a scalable solution is achieved through a hardware interface board positioned between the network and the emulator to allow proper transfer there between. A computer is separated from and coupled to the hardware interface board and provides the necessary control signals. Because it is done in hardware separated from the computer, the interface board is readily scalable through the simple addition of network chip sets. In another aspect, the interface board can be placed in two modes of operation. One is a live test wherein the emulator and network communicate through the interface board, without the need to traverse a computer. A second is a direct test where the network is electrically disconnected from the emulator, and an application program on the computer sends packets directly to the emulator through the interface board. In yet another aspect, packet formats may be changed on the interface board so that it appears to the emulator as if the network is operating at a different data transfer speed than is actually the case.09-11-2008
