20090165489Refrigeration Condenser for Electronics Cooling and Manufacture Thereof - Embodiments disclosed herein include a condenser stack having a cross-flow plate with a plurality of transverse slots, and first and second microchannel plates mounted to the cross-flow plate. In some embodiments, the microchannel plates may have a plurality of microchannels that allow for the flow of the refrigerant substantially through the plurality of microchannels in a direction generally perpendicular to the plurality of transverse slots. In some embodiments, the condenser stack may be implemented in an apparatus, such as a heat sink assembly, and in a refrigerator system. Moreover, embodiments for a method for manufacturing the condenser stack and apparatus are described. Other embodiments are also described.07-02-2009
20100089063Systems and Methods for Energy Storage and Recovery Using Rapid Isothermal Gas Expansion and Compression - The invention relates to systems and methods for rapidly and isothermally expanding and compressing gas in energy storage and recovery systems that use open-air hydraulic-pneumatic cylinder assemblies, such as an accumulator and an intensifier in communication with a high-pressure gas storage reservoir on a gas-side of the circuits and a combination fluid motor/pump, coupled to a combination electric generator/motor on the fluid side of the circuits. The systems use heat transfer subsystems in communication with at least one of the cylinder assemblies or reservoir to thermally condition the gas being expanded or compressed.04-15-2010

20100172095CROSSFLOW BLOWER APPARATUS AND SYSTEM - Some embodiments of an apparatus and system are described for a crossflow blower. An apparatus may comprise an enclosure having a first side and a second side where a portion of the first side is recessed in a direction of the second side. The enclosure may also comprise a first internal height between the first side and the second side and a second internal height between the recessed portion of the first side and the second side. The enclosure may also comprise a motor and a crossflow blower arranged to generate a flow of air between the first side and the second side in a direction substantially perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the crossflow blower. Other embodiments are described.07-08-2010
20100205960Systems and Methods for Combined Thermal and Compressed Gas Energy Conversion Systems - The invention relates to systems and methods including an energy conversion system for storage and recovery of energy using compressed gas, a source of recovered thermal energy, and a heat-exchange subsystem in fluid communication with the energy conversion system and the source of recovered thermal energy.08-19-2010
20110079010SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMBINED THERMAL AND COMPRESSED GAS ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS - The invention relates to systems and methods including an energy conversion system for storage and recovery of energy using compressed gas, a source of recovered thermal energy, and a heat-exchange subsystem in fluid communication with the energy conversion system and the source of recovered thermal energy.04-07-2011

20090002941AIR-PERMEABLE, HYDROPHOBIC MEMBRANE USED IN A COMPUTER DEVICE - A mechanism to reduce liquid intrusion into an internal volume of a computer device. In some embodiments of the invention, air-permeable, hydrophobic means reduces an intrusion of liquid into a computer device by way of an airflow system. In another embodiment, the air-permeable, hydrophobic means includes an air-permeable, hydrophobic membrane. Other embodiments are described and claimed.01-01-2009
20100132930Flexible Heat/Mass Exchanger - A flexible heat/mass exchanger constructed of flexible layers defining a flow channel and exterior surfaces. The heat/mass exchanger utilizes a working liquid, such as water, that is present in the flow channel during use. The heat/mass exchanger uses one or more porous and/or permeable materials to allow mass exchange between the working liquid in the flow channel and the environment surrounding the heat/mass exchanger. In a cooling mode, evaporation of the working liquid occurs via the mass exchange. In a dehumidification mode, moisture in the surrounding environment is transported to the working liquid via the mass exchange. In some embodiments, the heat/mass exchanger is made of a number of flexible sheets of material. One or more flexible heat/mass exchangers may be used to form a semi-closed system, such as a personal cooling system with a circulating coolant loop, or an open system, such as a personal hydration system.06-03-2010
