20080239010HEAD MODULE, LIQUID DISCHARGE HEAD, AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS - A head module includes lines of head chips, each head chip having energy-generating elements for discharging liquid and electrodes for electrically connecting the energy-generating elements to a control substrate, and a wiring board having wires for electrically connecting the electrodes to the control substrate. The head module drives the energy-generating elements through the wiring board to discharge liquid. The wiring board includes connecting sections connecting the wires to the respective electrodes, common wire sections joining some of the wires that are common to the head chips, and a terminal section connecting the wires to the control substrate at one side of the wiring board. The wires in the connecting and terminal sections are arranged in a single-layer structure along a horizontal direction. The wires in the common wire sections are arranged in a multi-layer structure in which portions of the wires are stacked in the vertical direction.10-02-2008
20080250642LIQUID EJECTION HEAD, LIQUID EJECTION APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING LIQUID EJECTION HEAD - A liquid ejection head includes a liquid chamber configured to contain liquid to be ejected from a nozzle, a liquid ejection member including the nozzle, and an energy generating element configured to provide energy to the liquid contained in the liquid chamber. The energy generating element ejects the liquid contained in the liquid chamber from the nozzle as a liquid droplet. A depression is formed on a surface of the liquid ejection member around the nozzle such that an opening of the depression has a width greater than a width of an opening of the nozzle and the nozzle is positioned at the bottom of the depression. The interior angle of the bottom corner of the depression is determined to be greater than 90 degrees.10-16-2008
20080252674Liquid ejecting apparatus and method of controlling same - A liquid ejecting apparatus for ejecting droplets by driving heat generating elements includes an electrical current source configured to output temperature measurement current; a plurality of head chips, each having a heat generating element, a temperature sensor whose resistance value changes with temperature, a switch circuit that connects the temperature sensor to the electrical current source, and a switch-circuit control circuit configured to control the switch circuit; and a heat-generating-element control circuit configured to measure temperatures of the plurality of head chips and controlling the driving of the heat generating elements via an end of the electrical current source on the temperature sensor side. The temperature sensors of the plurality of head chips are sequentially and selectively connected to the electrical current source by the switch circuits of the plurality of head chips, and the temperatures of the plurality of head chips are measured by the heat-generating-element control circuit.10-16-2008
20080259128LIQUID-EJECTING HEAD, LIQUID-EJECTING DEVICE, LIQUID-EJECTING METHOD, AND EJECTION MEDIUM FOR LIQUID-EJECTING HEAD - A liquid-ejecting head includes a liquid cell that contains an ejection medium that is liquid at normal temperature, a nozzle for ejecting the ejection medium in the liquid cell, an energy-generating element for supplying ejection energy to the ejection medium in the liquid cell, and heating means for heating the liquid cell independently of the supply of the ejection energy to the ejection medium in the liquid cell. The energy-generating element is driven to eject the ejection medium from the nozzle in a droplet form. The heating means is supplied with a substantially direct current component to generate heat so that at least the temperature of the liquid cell is constantly maintained above the ambient temperature irrespective of whether the energy-generating element is driven.10-23-2008
20080266344Liquid Ejector and Method for Ejecting Liquid - A liquid discharge apparatus that is capable of setting a proper deflection amount for deflecting an ink discharge direction even when the distance between the ink discharge surface and the ink landing surface of print paper varies and method of using same. The liquid discharge apparatus includes a head in which a plurality of nozzle-incorporated ink discharge sections are arrayed, discharge direction deflection means for deflecting the discharge direction of an ink discharged from a nozzle of each ink discharge section in the direction of ink discharge section arrangement, distance detection means for detecting the distance between the ink discharge surface of the head and the ink landing surface of print paper, and discharge deflection amount determination means for determining the ink discharge deflection amount (discharge angle) to be provided by the discharge direction deflection means in accordance with the results of detection by the distance detection means.10-30-2008
20090096841Liquid ejection head and liquid ejection device - A flow path structure includes a heating element, a barrier layer, a liquid chamber formed by a part of the barrier layer and a pair of walls confronting each other to hold the heating element therebetween and a first individual flow path and a second individual flow path disposed on both the sides of the liquid chamber to communicate with the liquid chamber, a liquid is supplied to the liquid chamber from at least one of first and second individual flow paths, and the distance U between the walls in the liquid chamber and the flow path width W of the first individual flow path are set to satisfy U>W. With this arrangement, a flow path structure can be provided in which a failure in flow paths due to dusts is unlike to occur and which minimizes the influence of bubbles and has almost no uneven ejection.04-16-2009
