20100328249 | CAPACITIVE-INDUCTIVE TOUCH SCREEN - A touch screen uses a combination of capacitive sensing and inductive sensing applied to the same sensor pattern. A capacitive sensor uses the electric field formed by the columns and rows of the sensor matrix. An inductive sensor uses the magnetic field formed by current flowing in column and row lines to induce an inductive pen. Using the same sensor lines, the magnetic field created by the oscillating inductive pen is detected. Both methods require no moving elements in the sensor and it is possible to combine both method of detections in the same sensor pattern. Using switch matrices, the sensor lines are operated in an open loop fashion for the capacitive detection mode, and are operated in a closed loop fashion for the inductive detection mode. | 12-30-2010 |
20140009430 | COMBINING TOUCH SCREEN AND OTHER SENSING DETECTIONS FOR USER INTERFACE CONTROL - A touch sensitive display includes a capacitive touch sensor configured to output capacitance values. A motion sensor makes a motion detection and generates a motion signal including a motion value indicative of sensed motion detection. A touch detection circuit is coupled to receive the capacitance values and motion values. The touch detection circuit processes the capacitance values to make a hovering detection and a touching detection with respect to the display. The touch detection circuit further generates an output signal including the motion value correlated in time with each of the hovering detection and touching detection. The output signal may be processed as a user interface control signal. The output signal may also be processed to determine an impulsive strength of the touching detection as a function of an elapsed time between hover and touch and the measured motion values. | 01-09-2014 |

20110253009 | PAINTBALL FILL MATERIAL - According to principles of this invention, flour can be used as a filler for either an oil-based or PEG-based paintball fill material. In one embodiment of the present invention, a paintball fill material preferably comprises flour. More particularly, a paintball according to principles of the present invention can comprise a gelatin capsule defining an interior chamber which, upon formation of the paintball, houses a fill material. The fill material can comprise, for instance, 1%-65% polyethylene glycol, 25%-45% flour, and up to 0.5% dye, with the balance water. Accordingly, unlike conventional paintballs, the paintball fill material of the present invention preferably contains flour rather than starch to reduce the amount of polyethylene glycol required for the fill material. In alternative formulations, an oil can be used in addition to, or instead of, polyethylene glycol. According to another aspect of the present invention, the gelatin capsule for the paintball can also utilize flour in its composition. As with the fill material, the use of flour rather than starch in the paintball shell composition can reduce equipment maintenance and production costs. | 10-20-2011 |
