20090156271WIRELESS DEVICE BATTERY CONSERVATION METHOD AND SYSTEM - Generally, the present invention provides a method for detecting poor RF conditions, and entering different sleep mode levels or phases in accordance with the RF conditions to save battery power. Mobile device battery life can be conserved when the mobile device detects poor RF conditions and enters a deep sleep mode of operation. In this deep sleep mode of operation the mobile device periodically samples the RF conditions and gradually increases the period between samples when the RF conditions do not improve. Because mobility can change the RF condition for wireless devices even in areas of good RF coverage, the mobile device operating in the deep sleep mode can detect this mobility and thus enhance the probability of entering an idle state, or alternatively, entering a longer power save mode. When the RF condition improves, the mobile device exits from the deep sleep mode and returns to the idle state.06-18-2009

20090190513Methods And Apparatus For Reducing Power Consumption In CDMA Communication Device - Methods and apparatus for reducing power consumption of a code division multiple access (CDMA) communication device are described. The CDMA communication device operates in a voice call during which voice or audio information is communicated in frames over forward and reverse links. During voice inactivity periods of the voice call, a transmitter of the CDMA communication device is controlled to enter and be maintained in low power states, for stopping transmission of lowest rate frames that would otherwise be sent during the voice inactivity period.07-30-2009
20090239487METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REGULATING THE TRANSMITTED POWER IN MULTI-RATE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS - A method and apparatus for regulating Tx power in a multi-rate mobile device transmitter containing signal dependent gain stages. A data rate and signal format indicator signal corresponding to the transmitted signal, and a desired reference power signal are fed to a mapper that outputs a calibration value based on the desired reference power level at the antenna. The calibration value controls the power amplifier gain characteristics in real time.09-24-2009

20080249724SYSTEM AND METHOD OF BATTERY CAPACITY ESTIMATION - In accordance with the teachings described herein, systems and methods are provided for battery capacity estimation. A profile table may be used that relates a plurality of battery profile values with a plurality of operating parameter values. The profile table may be accessed to translate one or more measured operating parameters into one or more corresponding battery profile values. One or more of the battery profile values may be adjusted by a correction factor to generate a corrected battery profile value. The available capacity of the battery may be calculated using the corrected battery profile value. The correction factor may then be automatically calibrated by using an estimated battery profile value calculated from the one or more measured operating parameter.10-09-2008

20110317812METHOD OF LOW ENERGY IMAGING IN THE PRESENCE OF HIGH ENERGY RADIATION - An apparatus and method obtain an image of an object from a first radiation source in the presence of a second radiation source. The first radiation source is directed at a first side of the object while the second radiation source is directed at the second side of the object. At least one portion of the radiation is detected at the second side of the object. A first signal is produced based on the at least one portion of detected radiation. The first signal has a first radiation component and a second radiation component. At least one other portion of radiation at the second side of the object is filtered and then detected. A second signal is produced based on the detected filtered radiation. The second signal has at least one of a filtered first radiation component and a filtered second radiation component. Then a third signal is produced from the first and second signals. The third signal is a representation of a first radiation component.12-29-2011
