20090061072MANDREL AND METHOD FOR COATING OPEN-CELL IMPLANTABLE ENDOVASCULAR STRUCTURES - Methods of coating a medical device are provided to improve coating uniformity and reduce coating irregularities while reducing direct coating of the luminal surface of the medical device. Preferably, methods of coating a tubular medical device include the steps of: positioning the tubular medical device around a mandrel coating assembly, mounting the tubular medical device on the mandrel coating assembly and spraying a coating solution including a therapeutic agent and a solvent onto the abluminal surface of the tubular medical device mounted on the mandrel coating assembly. The mandrel coating assembly may include an axial member of a diameter that is less than the diameter of the lumen of the tubular medical device and at least one annular projection extending from the axial member to an outer surface having a diameter greater than or substantially equal to the diameter of the lumen of the medical device. Improved coating uniformity may be achieved by providing an annular space between the luminal surface of the medical device and an axial member. Coating on the luminal surface may be minimized by providing an axial member having an outer diameter that is greater than the maximum width or length of the spray contacting the axial member after passing through the openings in the medical device.03-05-2009

20090192621Shoulder Implant Assembly - An implant assembly and associated method for selectively performing reverse and traditional arthroplasty for a shoulder joint that includes a humerus and a glenoid. The implant assembly may include a head, a cup, a humeral stem and an adaptor. The method includes inserting the humeral stem to the humerus and connecting a male taper of the adaptor to a female taper of the head. For reverse arthroplasty, the method includes attaching the adaptor to the glenoid and the cup to the stem. For traditional arthroplasty, the method includes attaching the adaptor to the humeral stem and the cup to the glenoid. The method also includes articulating the head with the cup.07-30-2009
20100049327Method and Apparatus for Removing a Bearing - A system for replacing a portion of a shoulder joint can include a tray having an outer surface and an inner surface. The outer surface can be adapted to engage a humeral stem. A bearing can include an outer bearing surface and an inner articulating surface. The outer bearing surface can be positioned adjacent to the tray. A ring can be selectively disposed between the tray and the bearing. The ring can define an annular body having a slit formed therein. The ring can be movable between a locked position wherein the ring retains the bearing relative to the tray and an unlocked position. A removal tool can define a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end can define a ring engaging surface and a bearing engaging surface. The ring engaging surface can be adapted to engage the ring at the slit such that the ring expands radially from the locked position away from engagement with the bearing to the unlocked position. The bearing engaging surface can be adapted to engage the bearing and urge the bearing away from the tray.02-25-2010
20100241236Modular Radial Head Prosthesis - A prosthesis system for replacement of a head portion of a proximal radius can include an articulation component having a first connection portion. A first head component can have a second connection portion that connects to the first connection portion. A second head component can have a third connection portion that connects to the first connection portion. The second head component can have a distinct dimension from the first head component. A stem component can include a fourth connection portion that connects with either of the first or second head components. The stem component can have a stem anchoring portion that connects to the radius.09-23-2010
20110035013MODULAR CENTER PEGGED GLENOID - A glenoid component used for shoulder arthroplasty is adapted to be implanted into a scapula and engaged by a head of a humeral component. The glenoid component includes a body having a first articulating surface and a second medial surface opposite to the first articulating surface. The first articulating surface is adapted to engage with a humeral head. A plurality of removable fixed pegs each have a first end adapted to engage a cavity formed in the scapula and a second end extending from the medial surface. A central peg fixation mechanism is provided that is configured to couple an optional central fixation peg to the medial surface.02-10-2011
20110184424METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING A BEARING - A method for removing a bearing that is coupled to a prosthetic implant by a ring includes advancing a distal end of a removal tool in a first direction and into a slit formed in the ring. The ring can be caused to expand radially from engagement with the bearing. The distal end of the removal tool can be advanced in a second direction such that the removal tool engages the bearing. The distal end of the removal tool can be further advanced in the second direction such that the removal tool urges the bearing away from the prosthetic implant.07-28-2011
20110230972ELBOW RESURFACING PROSTHESIS - A method and apparatus for replacing a selected portion of the anatomy is described. In particular, a prosthesis can be provided to replace a portion of an articulating joint, such as an elbow.
