In one embodiment, an item information collection (IIC) server communicates with a plurality of client devices via a web server and/or an SMS server. The IIC server services requests for information regarding subject vehicles by forwarding information in the request to vehicle information sources. The resulting information is compiled and formatted for provision to the customer. The IIC server provides portions of the information to advertisers and related product/service providers according to one or more business rules. An operator of the IIC server may charge a premium to the advertisers and related product/service providers for the ability to present information and advertisements to the customer. Where the information includes customer contact information, the advertiser may optionally contact the customer directly. Business methods and rules for lead generation and utilization are also disclosed.09-15-2011

20090076895SHOPPING CART ACCOUNTABILITY USING COUPON INCENTIVES - A system and method encourage a shopper to return a shopping cart to a corral at a store. In the system, detectors recognize the shopper and the cart selected by the shopper at the cart corral. Further, the system includes a scanner at the point-of-sale that recognizes the shopper and records the goods purchased by the shopper. During operation of the system, a controller monitors the goods purchased by the shopper and determines suggested goods for subsequent purchase by the shopper. If the shopper returns the cart to the cart corral, the controller provides the shopper with coupons for the suggested goods. A database of categories is maintained. Each category includes one or more waymarks and is associated with at least one variable having one or more attributes, which each specify a type of data storable under that variable. A search is performed and one of the categories is selected. A new waymark is formed under the selected category. First, geospatial data defining a location is received from a user. Second, metadata describing a physical object associated with a location is received. One or more of the attributes, which each specify the type of data in agreement with the metadata is defined. Third, the geospatial data is compiled with the metadata for the new waymark. The new waymark is stored under the selected category. The new waymark is published on-line.04-09-2009

A database of cartridges is maintained. Each cartridge includes a sequence of triggerable events and origin geolocational data for a start location for execution of the triggerable events. A server is operatively coupled to the database and interfaces to a user device having a display and user input controls. A user request from the user device is processed. The user request, including a location of the user device, is received. The cartridges are searched by comparing the location of the user device and the start location for each cartridge. Those cartridges with the start location proximate to the location of the user device are selected. The selected cartridges are provided to the user device as a menu on the display and are further selectable through the user input controls.07-09-2009
20090177717System and method for providing recognized offline modification of a virtual asset - A computer-implemented system and method for providing recognized offline modification of a virtual asset are provided. A virtual asset that includes parameters that each have intrinsic significance within a virtual environment defined exclusively by a central server is identified. Qualitative rules including characteristics of the parameters are defined. The virtual asset is stored on storage media offline from the central server. Proposed changes to at least one of the parameters of the virtual asset applied by a client application are maintained and are stored on the storage media The virtual asset is authenticated on behalf of the central server through an asset authority. When authenticated, each proposed change is evaluated against the characteristics of the parameters as defined in the qualitative rules and only those proposed changes that are satisfactory are accepted.07-09-2009

Categories of published waymark records are maintained in a database. Each category is associated with at least one variable and one or more attributes, which each specify a type of metadata for the variables. The variables and attributes are presented for one of the categories in response to a request from a user. A user interface is applied to process input metadata for a physical object that is received from the user via the user interface. A consistency of the input metadata with the variables and attributes associated with the category is determined. The consistent input metadata is complied as a waymark record for the physical object. The waymark record is published and displayed on a map.12-17-2009

20090187695HANDLING CONCURRENT ADDRESS TRANSLATION CACHE MISSES AND HITS UNDER THOSE MISSES WHILE MAINTAINING COMMAND ORDER - Apparatus handles concurrent address translation cache misses and hits under those misses while maintaining command order based upon virtual channel. Commands are stored in a command processing unit that maintains ordering of the commands. A command buffer index is assigned to each address being sent from the command processing unit to an address translation unit. When an address translation cache miss occurs, a memory fetch request is sent. The CBI is passed back to the command processing unit with a signal to indicate that the fetch request has completed. The command processing unit uses the CBI to locate the command and address to be reissued to the address translation unit.07-23-2009

20110053500DE-TUNING IN WIRELESS POWER RECEPTION - Exemplary embodiments are directed to wireless power transfer. A receiver with a receive antenna couples with near field radiation in a coupling-mode region. The receiver generates an RF signal at a resonant frequency responsive to the near field radiation. A de-tuning circuit generates a variable impedance responsive to a control signal to modify the RF signal to a smaller amplitude or to a different resonant frequency. A rectifier converts the modified RF signal to a DC signal. A comparator creates a feedback loop by generating the control signal responsive to comparing the DC signal to a reference voltage. The de-tuning circuit may operate in digital mode or in linear mode with the feedback. An impedance element may be coupled to the de-tuning circuit to generate a voltage proportional to a current through the de-tuning circuit. The proportional voltage is rectified to a receive signal with information sent from a transmitter.03-03-2011

20080300902METHOD OF IDENTIFYING LOCATIONS EXPERIENCING ELEVATED LEVELS OF ABUSE OF OPIOID ANALGESIC DRUGS - In the field of pharmacovigilance (monitoring of adverse events associated with the use of marketed prescription drugs), an improved method of detecting “signals” of abuse or diversion of pharmaceuticals is needed, in order to more reliably distinguish real anomalies in pharmaceutical consumption in particular locations from apparent anomalies which are statistical artifacts of high local concentrations of authorized pharmaceutical users. An improved method relies upon government statistics on adverse drug reactions and on census statistics, and employs a Poisson statistical model to adjust for both fixed effects and random effects, such as spatial relations between different locations. The more accurate “signals” provided by the improved method permit public health and law enforcement officials to allocate public resources more efficiently and effectively.12-04-2008
