20110040703System, Method and Program Product to Estimate Cost of Integrating and Utilizing Heterogeneous Data Sources - System, method and program product for estimating a cost of reconciling heterogeneous data sources. A transition cost for integrating together a first program to identify semantic conflicts, a second program to classify semantic conflicts and a third program to reconcile semantic conflicts is estimated. A steady state cost for managing and maintaining the integrated first, second and third programs is estimated. Another system, method and program product for estimating a cost of integrating heterogeneous data sources. A steady state cost of managing and maintaining a first program which identifies semantic conflicts between a cross data source query and schema elements in a data source is estimated. A steady state cost of managing and maintaining a second program which classifies semantic conflicts between the cross data source query and schema elements in the data source is estimated. A steady state cost of managing and maintaining a third program which reconciles semantic conflicts between the cross data source query and schema elements in the data source is estimated.02-17-2011
20110072253METHOD, SYSTEM AND PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR DETERMINING AN OPTIMAL CONFIGURATION AND OPERATIONAL COSTS FOR IMPLEMENTING A CAPACITY MANAGEMENT SERVICE - A method, system and program product for determining an optimal configuration and operational costs for implementing a capacity management service. The method includes storing in a knowledge management system factual data and business rules for determining an optimal configuration for implementing the capacity management service, and inputting into the knowledge management system a plurality of business-technical variables supplied by an end user. The method further includes selecting a priority level for one or more of the business-technical variables inputted based on a set of business-technical factors, harmonizing the priority level selected for the one or more business-technical variables in order to minimize any inconsistencies among the priority level selected and determining the optimal configuration and associated operational costs for implementing the capacity management service, using the business-technical variables inputted and using the factual data and the business rules stored in the knowledge management system.03-24-2011
20110138391CONTINUOUS OPTIMIZATION OF ARCHIVE MANAGEMENT SCHEDULING BY USE OF INTEGRATED CONTENT-RESOURCE ANALYTIC MODEL - A system and associated method for continuously optimizing data archive management scheduling. A job scheduler receives, from an archive management system, inputs of task information, replica placement data, infrastructure topology data, and resource performance data. The job scheduler models a flow network that represents data content, software programs, physical devices, and communication capacity of the archive management system in various levels of vertices according to the received inputs. An optimal path in the modeled flow network is computed as an initial schedule, and the archive management system performs tasks according to the initial schedule. The operations of scheduled tasks are monitored and the job scheduler produces a new schedule based on feedbacks of the monitored operations and predefined heuristics.06-09-2011
20110258143SYSTEM, METHOD AND PROGRAM TO ESTIMATE COST OF DISTRIBUTING SOFTWARE - System and computer program product for estimating the cost of an ESD for software and subsequent updates for the software. Various cost factors can be considered such as one or more of the following. First program instructions determine a cost of the ESD associated with packaging together components of the software. Second program instructions receive a selection from an operator whether to push or pull the subsequent updates to a customer, and determine a cost for distributing the subsequent updates based on the selection. Third program instructions estimate a cost of the ESD associated with a type of program used by the customer to create images of the software. Fourth program instructions estimate a cost of the subsequent updates associated with distributing the updates to a remote distribution site, and then distributing the updates from the remote distribution site to the customer based on a type of customer tool used to download the updates from the remote distribution site. Fifth program instructions sum together the various costs.10-20-2011

20080230442Process for Upgrading Heavy Oil and Bitumen - Disclosed is a process for the upgrading and demetallizing of heavy oils and bitumens. A crude heavy oil and/or bitumen feed is supplied to a solvent extraction process 09-25-2008
20090261017SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR UPGRADING HYDROCARBONS - Systems and methods for upgrading hydrocarbons are provided. A portion of a hydrocarbon can be vaporized in the presence of gasified hydrocarbons, combustion gas, and solids to provide a vaporized gas. A portion of the hydrocarbon can be cracked in the presence of the gasified hydrocarbons, the combustion gas, and the solids to provide a cracked gas. A portion of the hydrocarbon can be deposited onto the solids to provide hydrocarbon containing solids. At least a portion of the hydrocarbon containing solids can be selectively separated to provide separated hydrocarbon containing solids and a hot gas product. The hot gas product can be at a temperature of from about 400° C. to about 1,650° C. A portion of the hydrocarbon containing solids can be combusted in the presence of an oxidant to provide the combustion gas. A portion of the hydrocarbon containing solids can be gasified to provide the gasified hydrocarbon.10-22-2009
20090294328INTEGRATED SOLVEN DEASPHALTING AND GASIFICATION - Systems and methods for processing hydrocarbons are provided. A hydrocarbon containing one or more asphaltenes and one or more non-asphaltenes can be mixed with a solvent. The ratio of the solvent to the hydrocarbon can be about 2:1 to about 10:1. The asphaltenes can be selectively separated from the non-asphaltenes. A portion of the asphaltenes can be vaporized in the presence of gasified hydrocarbons and combustion gas.
