20080220236SOFT MAGNETIC MATERIALS - An article including a monolithic body including iron, cobalt, and nitrogen is provided. The monolithic body includes a matrix phase and a plurality of particles disposed within the matrix phase. The particles include a phase comprising nitrogen.09-11-2008
20080223819Method and etchant for removing glass-coating from metal wires - An etchant for and method of removing a glass coating on a metallic wire is provided. The etchant comprises an acid solution having metal ions contained therein. The metal ions prevent the acid solution from pitting or damaging the metallic wire, while allowing the acid solution to effectively etch and remove the glass coating. In one embodiment, a fluorine-based acid solution can be used. In another embodiment, a glass coated, metal alloy microwire is etched and the metal ions added to the etchant are chosen to be the same as the majority constituent element in the metal alloy. The glass coating can be either removed in full or only partially removed.09-18-2008
20090314390Alloy Castings Having Protective Layers and Methods of Making the Same - An alloy casting having a protective layer disposed on a surface of the casting is provided. The protective layer is resistant to liquid metal attack, and wherein the protective layer includes an oxide of an element present in the alloy. A method of forming a protective layer on a surface of the alloy casting is also provided. The method includes disposing the alloy in a mold, and oxidizing an element of the alloy to form a protective layer on the surface of the casting.12-24-2009
20100201469SOFT MAGNETIC MATERIAL AND SYSTEMS THEREWITH - A soft magnetic alloy including iron, cobalt, and at least one alloying addition including a platinum group metal, rhenium, or combinations thereof is provided. A device which is formed from such an alloy is also described.08-12-2010
20110073486AMORPHOUS METALLIC MATERIAL ELEMENTS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING SAME - A method for altering a dimension of an element made of an amorphous metallic material is provided. The method includes providing an anode comprising the amorphous metallic material, wherein the amorphous metallic material comprises at least two primary constituents, providing a cathode disposed in a spaced-apart relationship with the anode, providing an electrolyte in contact with the anode and the cathode, and applying an electrical potential between the anode and the cathode.03-31-2011
20110123727MAGNETIC LAMINATED STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MAKING - A method for making an article comprising a multilayered structure comprising a series of magnetic layers is provided. The method includes providing a substrate and depositing a series of magnetic layers on the substrate and disposing insulating layers between successive magnetic layers. Each magnetic layer has a thickness of at least about 2 micrometers and magnetic material has an average grain size less than 200 nm.05-26-2011

20100114676DYNAMIC DISCOUNTING SYSTEM AND METHOD - A system and method for dynamically discounting trade debt through the use of a forward auction is provided. In one example, a system that allows a seller to auction inventory to a plurality of bidders. According to this embodiment, the system may determine eligibility for acceptance of bids submitted by the bidders and a plurality of bids may be determined to be eligible for acceptance. Further, a margin by which the bids are acceptable may be determined and a representation of the margin may be communicated. In another example, a method is provided for discounting debt using an auction system. According to this embodiment, a seller may configure an auction event with auction parameters, such as hurdle rates, that will best serve the goals of the auction. The seller may alter event parameters while the event is ongoing, thus further enhancing the ability of the seller to meet auction objectives.05-06-2010
