METHOD AND APPARATUS OF SELECTING TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION MODE OF PLURAL TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION PAIRS - An achievable sum data rate with respect to each of available candidate transmission/reception modes may be calculated to select a transmission/reception mode of transmission/reception pairs repeatedly using radio resources. A transmission/reception mode to be applied may be selected from the candidate transmission/reception modes based on the calculated sum data rate. Information associated with the selected transmission/reception mode may be shared by the transmission/reception pairs. | 03-10-2011

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SPATIAL MULTIPLEXING IN MULTI INPUT MULTI OUTPUT SYSTEM - Methods and apparatus for spatial multiplexing in a closed-loop Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) system are provided. In a method of operating a receiver in an MIMO system, a signal transmitted by a transmitter is received. Blockwise-Orthogonalized Spatial Multiplexing (B-OSM) is performed on the received signal. Feedback information determined by performing the B-OSM on the received signal is fed back to the transmitter. | 11-19-2009
Method for determining modulation and coding scheme - There is provided a method of determining a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS). The method includes predicting an error rate of a symbol and determining a MCS of the symbol using the error rate. Since a MCS level is determined using an estimated error rate and user data is scheduled, multi-user diversity gain can be obtained and the transmission rate can be improved. | 11-04-2010
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING MODULATION AND CODING SCHEME FOR ADAPTIVE MODULATION AND CODING SCHEME IN MULTIPLE INPUT MULTIPLE OUTPUT SYSTEM - A method and apparatus is provided for determining a modulation and coding scheme in a Multiple Input Multiple Output system with a Maximum Likelihood Detector (MIMO-MLD), in which an upper bound and a lower bound of a Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) for the MIMO-MLD are determined, an effective Signal to Noise Ratio (eSNR) is computed using a relation between the upper bound and the lower bound, a channel quality is estimated using the eSNR, and a modulation and coding scheme is determined using the estimated channel quality. | 06-02-2011

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING NANOSTRUCTURE AND NANOSTRUCTURE MANUFACTURED BY THE SAME - Provided are methods for producing nanostructures and nanostructures obtained thereby. The methods include heating a certain point of a substrate dipped into a precursor solution of the nanostructures so that the nanostructures are grown in a liquid phase environment without evaporation of the precursor solution. The methods show excellent cost-effectiveness because of the lack of a need for precursor evaporation at high temperature. In addition, unlike the vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) process performed in a vapor phase, the method includes growing nanostructures in a liquid phase environment, and thus provides excellent safety and eco-friendly characteristics as well as cost-effectiveness. Further, the method includes locally heating a substrate dipped into a precursor solution merely at a point where the nanostructures are to be grown, so that the nanostructures are grown directly at a desired point of the substrate. Therefore, it is possible to grow and produce nanostructures directly in a device. As a result, unlike the conventional process, it is not necessary to assemble and integrate the nanostructures produced in a sacrificial substrate into a device. | 01-13-2011

BATTERY PACK AND BALANCING METHOD OF BATTERY CELLS - A balancing method for a battery pack includes balancing battery cells near an end of discharge. A deep discharge of the battery cells can be prevented without using an overdischarge control unit. One battery cell balancing method includes: a balancing check condition determination step for determining whether or not a maximum voltage out of voltages of the battery cells is smaller than a reference voltage; a balancing start condition determination step for determining whether or not a residual capacity difference or voltage difference between the individual battery cells exceeds a reference value; a balancing time calculation step for calculating a balancing time for discharging the battery cell that exceeds the reference value; and a balancing operation step for discharging the selected battery cell when the battery cells are under charge or are at rest or when a discharge current of the battery cells is smaller than a reference current. | 08-05-2010
