CO-CURE PROCESS FOR AUTODEPOSITION COATING - A coated article comprising a metal surface, a first layer of an uncured autodeposition coating and a second uncured paint layer deposited sequentially on the surface without intermediate curing of the autodeposition coating, a process of co-curing said autodeposition coating and paint layer or layers, and a cured coated article having chemical bonds between the cured autodeposition coating layer and at least the cured paint layer immediately adjacent to the cured autodeposition coating layer. | 01-06-2011

SKEW ACTUATOR TO SERVO TRACK ZERO REFERENCE - A servo detection system for detecting servo tracks of a longitudinal tape. In a read/write head, two servo read heads are spaced laterally on a first head module, and a servo read head is on a second head module spaced longitudinally from the first module. A method comprises initially sensing a tape servo track with one servo read head of the first module and the servo read head of the second module to determine skew misalignment of the servo track. A zero reference value is stored representing the determined skew misalignment. The detection system switches from the one servo read head of each module, to the two servo read heads of the first module, and employs the stored value to position the read/write head in the zero skew position. The two servo read heads are then employed to read two servo tracks to identify the data band and to control skew. | 08-18-2011

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR CHECKING TAPE REEL MOTION - An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for checking tape reel motion. A control module directs a leading servo to apply torque to a leading reel and a trailing servo to apply torque to a trailing reel, wherein the control module directs the leading servo to apply an initial positive torque in a tape motion direction and directs the trailing servo to apply an initial negative torque counter to the tape motion direction. If there is no change in an angular position of the leading and trailing reels, the control module incrementally sums a first incremental positive torque to the leading torque to increase the leading torque and a second incremental positive torque to the trailing torque until there is a change in the angular position of the leading and trailing reels and/or until the torques exceed torque limits. | 09-18-2008
PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING AN INTEGRATED LOCK MECHANISM - An article of manufacture, such as a laptop computer, comprising a housing, a processor disposed within the housing, a computer readable medium disposed within the housing and in communication with the processor, a lock mechanism disposed within the housing, wherein the lock mechanism can be moved between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration, and computer readable program code encoded in the computer readable medium and useable with the processor, the computer readable program code comprising a series of computer readable program steps to effect moving the lock mechanism between the locked configuration and the unlocked configuration. | 03-25-2010

METHOD FOR REDUCING NON-VALUE ADDED TIME BETWEEN CALLS SERVICED AT A CALL CENTER - A method for reducing non-value added time between calls serviced at a call center includes selectively enabling an after-call-work state that is configured to be activated during a call from a subscriber vehicle when an advisor at the call center indicates a need for the after-call-work state. If the advisor does not activate the after-call-work state during the call, then upon completion of the call, automatically setting an operator station of the advisor to a call ready state. If, however, the advisor activates the after-call-work state during the call, then upon completion of the call, the method includes activating the after-call-work state. | 04-01-2010
