20080293267ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR WITH STRESS-DISTRIBUTION FEATURES - A connector capable of being mounted onto a substrate is disclosed. Such a connector may include a housing, and a contact mounted within the housing. The contact may include a body, terminal pins extending from a first edge of the body, contact beams extending from a second edge of the body, and a flared portion. The edges of a first contact beam and a second contact beam of the contact beams may be positioned proximate respective adjacent surfaces of the housing. The flared portion may also be positioned proximate a respective adjacent surface of the housing. The relationship between the first contact beam and its respective adjacent surface, the relationship between the second contact beam and its respective adjacent surface, and the relationship between the flared portion and its respective surface may inhibit bowing of the body of the contact when the connector is mounted on the substrate.11-27-2008
20090042417ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS HAVING POWER CONTACTS WITH ALIGNMENT/OR RESTRAINING FEATURES - Preferred embodiments of power contacts have alignment features that can maintain conductors of the power contacts in a state of alignment during and after insertion of the power contacts into a housing.02-12-2009
20090088028POWER CONNECTORS WITH CONTACT-RETENTION FEATURES - A power receptacle contact may include first and second contact beams that deflect independently of one another during mating of the power receptacle contact with a complementary blade contact. Each beam may extend from abutting respective body portions. The power receptacle contact may include a first clip that extends from the first contact beam. The first clip may define a blade receiving area between the first and second contact beams. A power connector may include a housing and a contact received in the housing. The contact may includes first and second protrusions that prevent the contact from moving in a first direction.04-02-2009
20100029126ELECTRICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM HAVING LATCHING AND STRAIN RELIEF FEATURES - An electrical communication system includes at least one electrical connector system that includes a header connector configured to mate with a receptacle connector through a back panel. The connector system includes a latch that releasably mates the header and receptacle connectors. The receptacle connector is mounted to a substrate, such as a printed circuit board, and the header connector is connected to a power cable assembly. The power cable assembly includes a faston that electrically connects a power cable to the electrical contacts of the header connector.02-04-2010
20100075528CABLE CONNECTOR - A cable connector includes an electrical contact configured to receive a cable at one end, and an electrical component at another end. The contact can be constructed as a one-piece contact body or a two-piece contact body, and the contact body can include a cable lock that assists in retaining the cable in the contact body.03-25-2010
20100184339LOW PROFILE POWER CONNECTOR HAVING HIGH CURRENT DENSITY - A receptacle power connector is provided having first and second rows of electrical power contacts retained in a connector housing. The connector housing has a low profile, and the power contacts are arranged in rows that each achieves a current density of about 120 Amps/linear inch (2.54 cm).07-22-2010
20100197166ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR HAVING POWER CONTACTS - An electrical power connector is provided that is configured to mate with a complementary electrical connector. The electrical power connector includes a connector housing that retains both electrical signal contacts and electrical power contacts. The electrical power connector includes an engagement assembly that includes 1) at least one polarization member configured to mate with a polarization member of the complementary electrical connector only when the electrical power connector is in a desired orientation relative to the complementary electrical connector, and 2) a securement member configured to releasably engage a securement member of the complementary electrical connector.08-05-2010
20100330846ELECTRICAL POWER CONNECTOR SYSTEM - An electrical power connector comprises a housing having a mounting interface and a mating interface. The mating interface defines a plurality of receptacles spaced apart in more than one direction. A plurality of electrical contacts is supported by the housing. These electrical contacts define respective mounting ends that are configured to electrically connect with an electrical component at the mounting interface, and opposed mating ends. At least one of the electrical contacts defines a common contact beam disposed within at least a select one of the receptacles. This common contact beam is configured to be electrically connected to a pair of adjacent electrical contacts of a mated electrical connector.12-30-2010
20110151701CARD-EDGE CONNECTOR - A card-edge connector may provide a physically secure attachment to a substrate without the use of removable hardware. The card-edge connector may include a straddle-mount card-edge connector housing and a retention assembly that extends from the connector housing. The retention assembly configured to releasably secure the connector to the substrate.06-23-2011
