20100150423Multi-nucleated cell classification and micronuclei scoring - Methods and systems for counting nuclei for cells in a cell-containing sample are disclosed, such as carried out on a computer. The methods comprise: receiving a raw image of the cell-containing sample; transforming the raw image into a segmented image comprising one or more nuclei clusters. The methods further comprise: for each of the one or more nuclei clusters, obtaining a convex hull of the nuclei cluster; locating any indentations on the nuclei cluster by comparing the nuclei cluster to the convex hull of the nuclei cluster; calculating a first nuclei count based on a tally of the indentations; and assigning the nuclei cluster to a cell among the plurality of cells. The methods further comprise: calculating a second nuclei count for each cell by totaling the first nuclei counts of its constituent nuclei clusters; and presenting a result based on the second nuclei count for at least one of the plurality of cells.06-17-2010

20100276975ANGLE ADJUSTABLE BACKREST MOUNTING - Angle adjustable backrest made of a lightweight, durable, adjustable, backrest for ultralight manual wheelchairs. Light-weight material can include composites for a rigid backrest for promotion of healthier and functional interface. Angle adjustment can be any desired range such as a range from −5 degree to 55 degrees (i.e. 85 degrees to 145 degree with respect to horizontal with the seat). No tools are necessary for any of the angle adjustments. The backrest has a horizontal adjustment (fore-aft) that can be any desired range such as 1 inch. The height selection depends on the length of the wheelchair frame tubes. The present invention improves the ease and simplicity of adjusting the backrest by or for the user, as well as enhances the aesthetic appearance and adds features necessary for achieving commercial readiness. The present invention can be retro fit onto a wide range for ultralight wheelchairs.11-04-2010

20100180042Simulcast Flow-Controlled Data Streams - Simulcast flow-controlled data streams is described. In embodiment(s), multicast data streams each communicate data to client devices at a different data rate. A high data rate of a first data stream can be reduced to accommodate a receive data rate of a client device that receives the data slower than the high data rate of the first data stream. A flow control service can monitor the high data rate of the first data stream to determine when the high data rate is reduced to a low trigger data rate, initiate a data stream probe at a probe data rate to determine slow client devices that receive the data slower than the probe data rate, and then demote the slow client devices for communication with a second data stream that communicates the data at a low data rate.07-15-2010

20110122237METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING TRANSMITTANCE INTERVALS IN 3D SHUTTER EYEWEAR BASED ON DISPLAY PANEL RESPONSE TIME - A 3D video viewing shutter device receives display response time from a 3D video display device for determining shutter open and close times. Response time may correspond to display type, a particular display and/or a change in pixel illumination levels between frames. The shutter device receives response information during device initialization and/or corresponding to changing pixel illumination levels. A sequence of 3D frames may comprise a pattern of left frames, right frames, blank frames and/or frames comprising a combination of left and right frames. Based on display device and/or shutter device response times, the shutter device may extend shutter transmittance time during a frame display interval into a blank frame interval. Transmittance may be enabled during display of blank frames subsequent to left or right frames. The shutter device and display device may communicate via a wireless link for example, via a Bluetooth wireless link utilizing Bluetooth clocks.05-26-2011

20110063203Displaying Enhanced Video By Controlling Backlight - Herein described are at least a method and a system to control the backlight luminance or intensity of a display. The display may be used in a display device such as a television set or computer monitor, for example. The method for controlling the backlight luminance of the display comprises receiving an image contained in one frame of data and generating a histogram of the image, wherein the independent variable of the histogram comprises gray level and the dependent variable of the histogram comprises the number of pixels associated with the gray level, and wherein an average value associated with each of a plurality of gray level intervals of the histogram is used to modulate the luminance of the backlight during a subframe of a plurality of subframes of the one frame. An exemplary system comprises one or more circuits operable for, at least performing the aforementioned method.03-17-2011
20110063312Enhancing Picture Quality of a Display Using Response Time Compensation - Herein described are at least a method and a system to enhance the display of video by using response time feedback compensation. The system and method may be used in a display within a television set, for example. The method comprises processing first image data gray level values from a first frame memory and processing second image data gray level values from a second frame memory, wherein the second image data gray level values are obtained one frame period prior to the first image data gray level values. The method further comprises outputting alternate image data from a second look-up table, wherein the second look-up table uses third image data gray level values from a third frame memory and current input image data gray level values obtained from a current frame. An exemplary system comprises one or more circuits operable for, at least performing the aforementioned method.03-17-2011
20110096146Method and system for response time compensation for 3D video processing - A sequential pattern comprising contiguous black frames inserted between left and right 3D video and/or graphics frames may be displayed on an LCD display. The pattern may comprise two or three contiguous left frames followed by contiguous black frames followed by two or three contiguous right frames followed by contiguous black frames. The left and/or right frames may comprise interpolated frames and/or may be displayed in ascending order. The contiguous black frames are displayed longer than liquid crystal response time. 3D shutter glasses are synchronized with the black frames.
