20100248707WIRELESS DEVICE REMOTE RECOVERY - Disclosed techniques enable wireless remote recovery for a wireless device that has encountered a potentially unrecoverable programming error during execution of a primary program controlling operations of the wireless device, e.g. an error that might otherwise prevent network communications. In response to the error, program execution changes over from the primary program to execution of a backup program. Under control of the backup program, the wireless device initiates a communication with a recovery server, over the air through a wireless network serving the wireless device. The communication utilizing the backup program enables the wireless device to receive programming from the recovery server, including a replacement version for at least a portion of the primary program. The primary program can then be corrected by replacing the portion thereof with the received replacement version. The wireless device then resumes normal operation, by resuming execution using the corrected primary program.09-30-2010

20110300826REAL-TIME USAGE MONITORING FOR COMMUNICATION DEVICES - A subscriber device receives a message from a network device external to the subscriber device, where the network device implements a first metering engine that meters usage of a network service by a subscriber using the subscriber device and where the message includes the subscriber's usage data. The subscriber device includes a second usage metering engine that receives the subscriber's usage data from the usage synchronization unit, and performs real-time metering of the subscriber's usage of the network service, based on the subscriber's usage data received from the network device and independently of the first metering engine of the network device, to generate real-time usage metering data. The second usage metering engine further outputs the real-time usage metering data to a display at the subscriber device.12-08-2011

20100037126METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND STORAGE MEDIUMS FOR PROVIDING DATABASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR A TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM - Methods, systems, and storage mediums for database management services for a telecommunications system are provided. A method includes transferring, via a managed language application, raw data extracted from a legacy system to a first spreadsheet application macro. The method also includes merging, via the first spreadsheet application macro, selected portions of the raw data, and creating a first spreadsheet file that includes the merged data. The merged data relates each physical and virtual fiber of the telecommunications system to the merged data. The method further includes transferring, via the managed language application, the first spreadsheet file to another spreadsheet application macro, and generating, via the other spreadsheet application macro, a graphical drawing comprising a cable ring that includes fiber routes and telecommunications equipment. The graphical drawing is generated using the merged data.02-11-2010

20120042508FEED MECHANISM FOR A TERMINAL CRIMPING MACHINE - A feed mechanism is provided for a terminal crimping machine that crimps a terminal to a wire. The terminal crimping machine has a crimping zone. The feed mechanism includes a feed finger configured to move along a feed stroke. The feed finger is configured to move along the feed stroke in a feed direction to feed the terminal into the crimping zone. The feed mechanism also includes a cam having a lift profile, and a push rod that includes a cam follower engaged with the cam. The cam follower is configured to travel along the lift profile of the cam such that the push rod moves in a lift direction. The push rod is mechanically connected to the feed finger and is configured to move the feed finger along the feed stroke in the feed direction when the push rod moves in the lift direction. A biasing mechanism is operatively connected to the push rod to exert a biasing force on the push rod that biases the cam follower of the push rod into engagement with the cam.02-23-2012

20110119207Healthcare Index - System and methods for processing price data for health services are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a data storage device configured to store a database comprising one or more records. The system may also include a server in data communication with the data storage device. The server may be suitably programmed to search the database to obtain a group of records of prices for a health service received by a group of subjects, wherein the health service is comprised in a service category; extract a representative price for the health service; determine a weight for the health service relative to the service category; and generate, using a processor, a weighted price for the health service based on the weight and the representative price.05-19-2011

20110173018SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE OF PREDICTION MARKET DATA TO GENERATE REAL-TIME PREDICTIVE HEALTHCARE MODELS - In a computer-implemented system and method for generating a real-time predictive healthcare model that can predict future costs or health-related behaviors associated with a population of interest, historical healthcare data associated with the population members is used to generate an actuarial predictive model for the population. The actuarial predictive model enables identification of precursors for the population members, such as potential actions that can be taken by the population members to improve their future health and/or reduce future healthcare costs. The precursors are used to design one or more prediction markets and generate prediction market results based upon the market participants' responses. The prediction markets results, along with the actuarial predictive model, are used to generate a real-time predictive model. Later-received actuarial data associated with the population may be used to verify the accuracy of the prediction market results and update the real-time and actuarial predictive models.07-14-2011
