20100172745CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR HAVING ADJUSTABLE INLET GUIDE VANES - An apparatus for adjustment of inlet guide vanes of a compressor includes a ring having a plurality of slots spaced around a circumference thereof; a plurality of lever arm assemblies each having a pin that includes a body with a first end and a second end and a lever arm extending perpendicularly from the second end of the body of the pin; a plurality of vanes each coupled to an end of one of the plurality of lever arms by a shaft; and a rack and pinion drive mechanism. The pin of each of the lever arm assemblies is configured to be positioned within each of the plurality of slots such that the first end of the pin extends into the slot. The rack and pinion drive mechanism includes a pinion coupled to the shaft of one of the plurality of vanes, thereby creating a drive vane; and a driven rack operationally coupled to the pinion. The drive vane is configured to rotate the ring via the rack and pinion drive mechanism, thereby adjusting an angular position of the plurality of vanes.07-08-2010

20120095903System and Method for Trading Financial Instruments Based on Undisclosed Values - In electronic trading venues, there may be orders for which the full information is not publicly displayed. For example, the full quantity of an order available for trading or the most aggressive price at which an order can be traded may not be made public. A system and method are disclosed that facilitates trading based on this non-public information. A first order associated with a financial instrument is placed at a venue to probe for non-public information related to the financial instrument. The results of the probe may then be used to place a second order at the venue that takes advantage of any discovered non-public information.04-19-2012

20100025476SECURITY LABEL LAMINATE AND METHOD OF LABELING - A labeling method for marking a product with invisible information. The label includes a removable laminate formed from a light transmissive layer, and a light transmissive adhesive that detachably affixes the label to a product. The label includes an invisible marker that contains information, detectable by light of selected wavelength. The amount of marker selected is sufficient to allow information in the marker to be detected only when the laminate is affixed over a surface with a selected optical background. The label laminate is removed from the surface of the product and affixed to a surface having the selected optical background and is exposed to light that renders the information in the marker detectable. The method allows covert information in the label laminate to be reliably detected and read with the use of minimal quantities of marker material.02-04-2010

20090027177Processor Controlled Adaptive Safety System with Remote Shutdown - The present invention is a Processor Controlled Adaptive Safety System intended for personal vehicles such as All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), golf carts, personal watercraft, and snow machines. Additionally it may be implemented on manufacturing and industrial processes. This invention uses a microprocessor and associated program to evaluate the vehicle/system operator and onboard system sensors to determine whether the operator is qualified. If the operator is not qualified the unit will disable or reduce the performance of said vehicle or system. The said invention also incorporates a wireless remote shutdown system to provide a qualified owner/operator with the option of disabling the vehicle or system remotely. The objective of this invention is to prevent accidents to elderly, teen age and pre teen-age children, and workers, and act as an anti theft device.01-29-2009

20100293126AUTOMATED JOB APPLICATION SYSTEM INCLUDING APPLICANT HINTS - An automated job application system includes a processor coupled to a display and to a user input device, wherein the automated job application system executes one or more instructions for accepting signals from the user input device to determine responses to questions in a job application; comparing the responses to predetermined conditions; determining that one condition is not met; displaying on the display a notification that the condition is not met; and accepting a signal from a user input device to modify a response to the condition so that the condition is met. In a more specific embodiment, the instructions facilitate displaying the notification that the condition is not met via a hint list. The hint list may provide a plurality of conditions that are not met. The conditions may be required or desired and not required, and an indication may be displayed indicative of which required or desired conditions have been met by the applicant.11-18-2010

20090182640Fiscal Data Recorder - A fiscal data recorder for storing transaction related data in a point of sale system is provided with a processing unit receiving the transaction related data. Memory in communication with the processing unit is operable to store the transaction related data. A protection circuit acting between the processing unit and the memory inhibits the electronic tampering with the transaction data stored in the memory.07-16-2009
20090284778Multiple Font Management System And Method - A multiple font management system and method in a printing device for activating multiple fonts is provided for enabling base font localization and font patching for print jobs to reduce the need to upload entire fonts in order to provide localized receipts or to provide corrections to partially-corrupted font tables. A font access level stores locations of activated base, localization and patch fonts and are referenced in an access order during character retrieval so as to apply retrieval priority to patches and localizations. A font storage level maintains multiple tier character indices for referencing character shape data in order to provide faster character searching through each of the multiple activated fonts than a single-level index.11-19-2009
